Hello everyone! Today’s a great day to catch up on some indy news, so let’s get to it!
WEW: Legendary indy woman Jazz defeated Christie Ricci in a mercifully quick match. Jazz has never had any problems dominating the smaller, less experianced girls of WEW, as few can handle Jazz’s gruff style. ROH and Shimmer tag team, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew featuring The Age of the Fall’s Lacey and TNA’s “Ms. Payton Banks” Rain, were led to the ring by Lucyfer, to square off against indy sensation Sumie Sakai and Annie Social. Unfoutunately, as the bell rang and WEW leader Francine (Formerly of ECW) began her commentary on Lacey and Rain, the show was brought to an abrupt end, as each episode only has a 25 minute allotment. 15 of which goes straight to PPV advertisment. The match’s ending is set to air next week. Gomen Nasai!!
PWO: Pro Wrestling Ohio was taped before a packed crowd at the Lakewood Masonic Temple. The taping aired early this morning on Sportstime Ohio. Prior to the first match of the night, Deeeelicious Joey Demarco cut a hillarious promo about his opponent Marion Fontane and Marion’s friend Nacho Grosh. (Formerly Macho Grosh) This was where PWO tested out their new censorship equipment, as 92% of DeMarco’s promo was bleeped out. Apperantly, he thinks there’s something romantic going on between Marion and his BFF Nacho, but as stated, the promo was heavily edited. DeMarco later lost to Marion, in a quiet upset. Brian Bender helped his BFF Ernie Ballz debut his new talk show “The Rock Show”. The heel tag team known as “The Clash” model their clothes after ROH legend and current FCW star Colt Cabana, yet the team has yet to find their true niche. Ernie’s first guest was PWO student Bobby Beverly, a shy, shaven kid with a soft voice. After Ernie grew tired of sharing the spotlight wit the mumbling Beverly, Bender dropped the poor kid on his head. Next guest was the fan favorite Hobo Joe, who came “dressed up” in a pink boa. When asked why he was there, Hobo Joe said “To rock and roll!” to wit the man did a little dancing to please the crowd, who deafened the staff by chanting for the homeless one. Hobo Joe recieved a beat down by Bender and Ballz, but Bobby Beverly returned with a ref, to start the tag team match against The Clash. In a shocking attempt to cut down on television time, PWO officials cut the match WAY short, by omitting the whole thing using a cheap blur effect! The match aired as follows:
Bell rings. Beverly gets into a grapple with Ballz. BLUR EFFECT. 2…3, The Clash win.
Very rude. Very disrespectful. After the bout, M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross was shown pleading with beloved star Gregory Iron not to get into the ring, as Iron is still suffering from a concussion suffered several months ago at the hands of Johnny Gargano. On top of his concussion, Iron has suffered from Cerebal Palsy, has a deformed hand and has barely survived brain hemmoraging. The kid needs to be in a hospital, but Iron refused, saying that professional wrestling is his life, and he feels his place will always be in the ring. M-Dogg protested, saying also that Iron’s doctor did NOT give him clearance, but Iron went anyways.
Matthew Justice, as led to the ring by Charles White Sox Johnson, faced off with Iron in a high spirited match. Iron won, but then fell to the ground, holding his head. Iron needed help after the bout, complaining of dizzyness and a headache. This kid needs medical aid…
A pretaped segment aired, with Johnny Gargano almost in tears, complaining about his losing streak, which he feels was only made worse by his feud with Iron. Chillingly, Gargano warns Iron not to show up anymore, or something ELSE bad will happen to him, courtesy of Gargano. Gargano has had a long standing grudge against most handicapped persons, and last year, even harrassed Alex Shelley, stopping short of stalking him.
The main event saw 2002 PWI 500 notable “The Amazing” N8 Mattson face off against young newcomer Justin Idol. Idol had the crowd going for him, while N8 just kept stalling. At one point in the match, Idol got so fed up with N8’s over-selling, that he held N8’s arms back, and dragged him around, letting several children in the audiance slap N8’s chest in protest. Idol, whom was making his PWO debut, showed off a brilliantly executed crossbody, and later scored a pinfall victory.
PWO announced that the next taping is in two weeks, and will feature the debut of Horomi Horiguchi. Also announced you can now purchase PWO season one on DVD. They also plugged the PWO school, and their website pwowrestling.com.
Well that’s that for right now. As always stay clean and healthy and read a good book when you can. Until next time!
