Touma in Uglycon Tokyo
Saturday, October 18th, 2008During Uglycon Tokyo, there were a lot of guest artists. Here’s one of the unique pieces there.
Done by Touma, I find this one really cute. Touma is Japanese character designer who is renowned for his designs, including the wildly-popular Knuckle Bear, as well as Scuttle, Talons, Snout, Hell Hounds, BOO and many more.
I think that seated figure is made from resin. Touma’s version of Wage is really cute and amusing. The one in the painting is Moxy.
Uglycon Tokyo Today!
Friday, October 10th, 2008Argh! Uglycon Tokyo is today! @_@ I wonder what other great goodies are up for sale besides the Super Puncher Kaiju? (LOL! I like that picture above. David’s version of the fortune cat is cute. Hmm…I wonder if he’ll turn that into a Miao?)
Saw a picture of a new hand-painted Ice-bat Kaiju though. It was done by Koji Harmon and it’s 1 of a kind!!! >.< I wish I could own a special Uglydolls figure one of these days.
See that Ice-bat beauty? That’s the one of a kind piece!
Lonely Otaku Print
Sunday, October 5th, 2008
Lonely Otaku will not be lonely anymore if you buy this limited print. If you’re one of the lucky 50 owners if this print, be sure to always accompany Lonely Otaku in his exploits in finding Super Puncher figures!
Oops! Lonely Otaku already died, right? So, he will be the one to accompany you!!! XD
This print will be available at DOUBLE PUNCH in San Francisco during "Sun-Min + David Things" show.
Super Puncher Figure
Friday, October 3rd, 2008Wooo! Here’s what the Super Puncher figure should look like. I WANT! XD
Hmm…this reminds me of David Horvath’s 2 Faced Dunny series, wherein you rotate the head 180 degrees to reveal a different form. Come to think of it, the concept is quite similar to Shurikenger (Green Ranger in Hurricanger) figure by Bandai.
For those who have the Japanese version of the toy, you know what I’m talking about. Hehe.
Lookie, lookie! This is the "Yokai" mode:
This is the Super Puncher mode:
I Like Pie!
Sunday, September 14th, 2008…and so do they!
Ohhh treasure~
The Uglies sure stumbled upon a great treasure — food! Look at their eyes! Look at them as they slowly reach out to the pie. XD
*Thanks to whoever took this picture. It’s really fun to take pictures of the vinyls. They’re so wacky, and their eyes are really expressive.*
Trying to Belong
Saturday, September 13th, 2008Super Puncher
Thursday, September 11th, 2008
This is a collaboration project between Gargamel and David Horvath / Sun-min Kim. It’s a pocket kaiju which will be released at Uglycon Tokyo on October 10, 2008.
Here’s the amusing story behind this very unique figure: Lonely Otaku collected too many used Super Puncher Robot toys. He made weekly trips to Akihabara and bought at least one used Super Puncher robot toy on each visit! This was unhealthy, so he died. He came back as Super Puncher Yokai Robot ghost! Now he can’t buy anything.
