OMG xD This might be old news for some but my sister just told me that MAC and Sanrio are going to launch a makeup collection February 2009.

This website has the best article I’ve come across.

I’m so excited xD I haven’t been this excited since the Smashbox and Tokidoki collaboration in 2007.

*credit card is ready to order online on February 10, 2009* xD

What is Kiva? What is micro-lending? All very good questions.

Kiva is a website that lets you directly lend money to entrepreneurs in the developing world. The key thing is that because the money is lent by “you”, these entrepreneurs would receive a loan with a lower interest rate than from what a commercial bank would charge. They then repay the loan over a period of time. This helps to give them a chance to move away from poverty. You are then able to re-loan the money to a new entrepreneur.

Kiva partners up with lending institutions in certain countries. The criteria for entrepreneurs is very strict. The lending institutions have also been screened by Kiva. You can view statistics and history of each lending institution.

I’ve been a member of Kiva since January 20th, 2008. How it works is very simple. You can loan as little as $25 to an entrepreneur of your choice. At this very moment, there is approximately 400 entrepreneurs. Over $684,650.00 has been lent for this week. If you don’t see any that you like, you are always free to check back another time. There are always new opportunities.

For more information, visit the Kiva website. The link on the right will take you to my personal lender page.

Kiva has also started up a new initiative called “teams”. I’m not currently in a team yet but if there are any that would be interested, we could start one up with a Hello Kitty/Sanrio theme to it perhaps?

It all started off as a dream. I dreamt that I landed in a world called Hello Kitty Online. Everything seemed so cute!

I met a wonderful cat named Mary. Mary gave me a pair of red shoes and told me to follow the yellow brick road. I decided to do exactly as she said - she wouldn’t let me leave without agreeing to it.

I took the shoes and put them on - they fit perfectly! And they were free best of all!

And started my walk on the “yellow brick road”.

I got lost many, many times. I have a poor sense of direction…

I met a nice cur who I named Fluffi. Fluffi followed me everywhere as long as I had food. If I didn’t, she would run away and re-appear as if by magic when she knew I had something to eat. >_> She’s always hungry…

I didn’t want to Fluffi run away anymore and so I started a farm to grow enough food for both of us.

I attended many fun parties with my new friends in the Sailoria guild.

Normal guild party:

Maneechan’s and Waltrik’s Wedding:

Kevent in Sanrio Harbor:

“Building houses in the guise of parties” parties:

Hello Kitty’s birthday party:

“Everyone in their underwear” party:

In the midst of all the partying and fun times, I suddenly woke up and discovered the dreaded message…

My dream turned into a nightmare :( Hello Kitty Online ended

I had such a good time - I can’t wait to visit Hello Kitty Online again! :)

This is an entry for the Sanriotown Travel the World Event at http://blog.sanriotown.com/traveltheworld:hellokitty.com/

In the last part of August of 2008, I took a much awaited vacation to Chicago, Illinois, USA.

There was so much to see, do and shop that at first I didn’t think I would accomplish all in 12 days.

Of course my beloved Hello Kitty was with me on my trip. She’s always on my Blackberry. Here is my favorite Hello Kitty theme for my phone. Ignore the date, I just took a picture today but rest assured she was with me the whole trip. I don’t think I could live without her as she contained my whole itinerary.

I’ve always been the typical tourist type. I love museums and great architecture. I love the shopping. Luckily Chicago has everything! And no wonder since it’s the third largest city in the United States after New York City and Los Angeles.

There’s so much shopping to be done - I was in heaven. Outlet mall shopping, mall shopping - my feet were hurting at the end of each day. ^_^ I paid off my credit cards before the trip just to rack up a balance again.

There are museums galore. I only had time to do 8 of them - there were many more that I could not visit. Let me share my favorite pictures with you.

I mentioned before that Chicago has great architecture. Many famous architects came from Chicago. Chicago is world known for it’s schools of design and innovation.

There’s also other stuff to visit too - the aquarium, the planetarium, the free zoo, Navy Pier and the many parks.

Adler Planetarium

Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park (huge fountain modeled after the one in England)

Lincoln Park Zoo (free admission to this zoo)

Shedd Aquarium

Navy Pier

Whew! How’s that for a mini vacation? There’s so much to see and do that I could go back for another12 days and not re-visit the same attractions. The weather was just perfect, not to hot and not to cold.

I love Chicago!
