According to this site 39,119  Species have gone extinct this year, that’s pretty crazy, we are only in April so how can that be right??

In the past 540 million years there have been five major events when over 50% of animal species died.

But I dunno I couldn’t find anything that proves that over 30,000 have really become extinct this year alone.. If anyone has info let me know:)
