It’s that typical anti-climactic time at the beginning of January where those of us dull enough to care mull over the lessons we’ve learned in the past year. So what have I learned?

Read above. Yes, he wrote this on me himself (>_<);; Yes, he even has a GALLERY of this stuff on his MySpace with contributions from his “fans”. Yes, what an idiot.
So….I was at Collectormania the other weekend. Had a great time with my co-workers, who did a great job of organising everything backstage. Wish we could have had better staging facilities though… Got done up like zombies which was very fun expecially as someone called the first aid for me! The make-up artist guy was kind of annoying though, I found him pretty patronising… High point of weekend: getting dressed up and pretending to be a celebrity entourage with Miss Prince and the Turks (I was the PA!) Low point of weekend: ugly/old Jack Sparrow with bad breath on the Sun urrgh.. (not RCollier I must add!). That is all I have to say about Collectormania.
I should really be preparing to leave for Paris tomorrow or at least writing a post about Collectormania which was last weekend but instead I’m going to have a rant, or rather several.First there’s something I was thinking about at work today. It’s about MEN, or rather the impossibly good-looking ones. Do they know that being blessed with good looks does not make it compulsory to be a manwhore? You would think that being given more choice would make them more discerning, but no, instead it they seem to drop their standards to anything that moves. It’s about quantity not quality people! And don’t even get me started on the handsome cosplayers.. I mean, is it really necessary to have a gaggle of fangirls following you around like a family of ducks? Can you imagine what it would be like if it was the other way round? It wouldn’t be a hoard of fanboys following the girl, it’d be a hoard of overweight, pit-stained kameko with their camera lenses steaming up and the cosplayeuse running in the opposite direction. AND she’d probably still get labelled a camwhore.. Read more »
Went to London Expo this weekend, wow what a rollercoaster ride of a weekend ~
Saturday was ssoooo good, met up with so many friends, including my friends from France, Yu & Mayumi, El, Lina and their friends and Rie from Finland. Saw the masquerade thanks to a ticket from Karen and Nert ~ one of the best masqs I’ve seen in a long time, especially love the new stage set-up and this time cosplayers have put so much effort into their performance! Best group was definitely Disney (although some of them were my friends so I’m biased lol) In the evening went for a meal with some of the friends mentioned above. Was a good day, especially as I even got on with some people I usually have issues with! Gonna try harder to be more laidback in future…
In comparison, Sunday was like stress HELL. Stayed up all night before to finish re-making Meryl’s cloak (how soul-destroying) then when I got there Jess and Nick said they didn’t want to do our performance! Thankfully I was pushy enough to convince them and Ant backed me up. After a short rehearsal we did an abridged version of our skit, highlight was definitely the custard pie in Vash’s face! Had a fun ‘custard pie fight’ while waiting for the results in the wings. Didn’t win anything but it got a really good response so glad we did it. Afterwards we got some great funny photos from Blaknight, they’re online at Mediev.net Blitz also won a prize that day, felicitations!
In the eve went to Wolf’s Jetrock night where I was the compere, first and last time I do the announcing while drunk (didn’t help I’d had no food or sleep in 24 hours…), I’m planning to go back to being a straightedger… Chui vexee avec un de les photographe aussi, il a essaye de faire un petit bisou sur le cou? yuk yuk yuk Je ne jamais permet personne de m’exploiter!
On the plus side however I was photographed and interviewed for famous Japanese fashion magazine KERA MANIAX!!! It was so exciting and I met Mariko, the editor in chief. The advantage of being a little drunk was I suppose that I was able to speak a little in Japanese with her without worrying about my grammar, I impressed myself ^^
Woke up early on Monday and rescheduled Trigun photoshoot. After some delays we did the shoot at a 50’s diner called Ed’s. Not eating, doing a photoshoot after partying all night, getting papped for a magazine, I felt like Kate Moss! So tired, soon as I got home slept for hours…
Hmm, first post in my very underused blog.. Actually I’m just procrastinating doing my costume for Expo LOL Just got off the phone with El, lots of gossip and bitching as usual hehe. Went to Rome the other week, very fun! Saw Valeria and Giorgia, mde new friends and went sightseeing. Everything is so big! Anyway better get on with finishing my costume…..hmm hope it gets done we’ll see…
