The Social Times has just released a review of Hello Kitty Online in which they proclaim HKO “the cutest MMORPG in history”. Also praised were the art and graphics, fun gameplay, friendly interaction with other players, and overall quality. The verdict:
“As a veteran MMORPG player, I loved the simplicity, adorable graphics, and introduction tutorial that makes this game extremely accessible for (nearly) all ages. The community is just what you’d expect from Hello Kitty fans – fun-loving and helpful. I really enjoyed the cooperative gameplay, outfitting my avatar in cute clothes, and talking to the Sanrio characters scattered throughout HKO. This is a quality, attractive and fun game for gamers of all skill levels – give it a shot!”

MPOGD.com reviewed Hello Kitty Online and found it “cute”, “peaceful”, and in possession of “a system that other games would be smart to copy”. Jason Van Horn explains why HKO is a good choice if you enjoy relaxation and conviviality:
Most MMOs are based around combat, leveling, and eventually hitting end game content. There is still an element of combat in the game, but it takes a bit of a backseat to everything else, and the process of leveling didn’t even register as a driving factor in the game for me. I’m desperately trying to reach level cap in World of Warcraft before its expansion comes out, so I’m constantly hurrying, fighting, and trying to do only the things that will help me level as fast as possible. With HKO I found myself playing at a much more relaxed pace, engaging in crafting, farming, playing mini-games, and not really paying attention to gained levels at all.

Last week, Hello Kitty Online was in the spotlight at Massively! “Rise and Shiny” columnist Beau Hindman gave the game pretty high marks! He said:
“Although I knew what to expect when I logged in, I was pleasantly surprised at how it all flowed together. While the animations were primitive, there was a consistency to it all; a flow that made it feel more together than quite a few “adult” games I have played.” He added: “Even with that title, it does more to satisfy my love for open character development than many of the major players.”
The game isn’t short of praise from Massively’s readers too. User Branclem noted:
“Polish, polish, polish - that always seems to be where my mind is at when I’m taking and writing up my notes. Unlike the last 2 weeks, this is a game that has it. The production qualities are high, nothing seemed buggy or broken, and everything just feels like it flows together rather smoothly. There are little flash-style minigames that come up during some quests, and they are fully animated and even have some voiceovers, providing a fun distraction from the main gameplay.”
Another reader, Yogi commented:
“I think it really fills its niche well. It runs smooth, has easy controls, decent graphics for younger audiences, and has a lot of stuff to occupy your time.“
Some potential issues were also raised by Massively and users, and we are now reviewing our sign-up and client download procedures. We really appreciate any comments that allow us to improve the game experience for everyone.

According to her review:
“The graphics are smooth, and what you would expect from the Hello Kitty world. Very detailed and very much from a fantasy world. The controls are easy to master, and the quests are relatively easy to finish. Very child friendly, and very friendly in general. I’m going to give this game an 8.0/10…”
