Makes 12 Siew Mai
1/2 pound ground pork
8 medium shrimps, peeled, deveined and diced
(2 black fungus, chopped into thin threads)
1/2 tbs finely chopped fresh ginger
1/2 tbs finely chopped scallion
1/8 tsp sesame oil
3 dashes white pepper
1/4 tsp chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tbs cornstarch
(1/2 tbs egg white)
Pinch of salt
Round wonton wrappers
1) Mix ground pork with other ingredients and seasonings. Set aside in the fridge for 20 mins.
2) Place ~1 tbs of the filling on each wrapper. Gather up the sides and leave the center open.
3) Grease the steamer to prevent sticking. Space the siew mai in the steamer without touching. Steam for ~5 mins. Serve with soy sauce.
