the day before yesterday i found out somthing about myself what i never thought could be true…29 july 2009 at 11:50 am i found out i was a dyslexic. i have allways found that i was slower than most others but i never realised that this was what was holding me back. For soo many years i have allways been a slow learner and ive had a bad memory for a long time too, though i dont know if i should be freaking out? feeling blessed? or relieved that i finally know whats wrong. for more info visit http://www.beingdyslexic.co.uk

if there is any advice anyone can offer on the subject or if there any tips you can offer just leve a comment…

PC tip #5 Use a lighter media player

every computer i have ever used has slowed down when a piece of music or a video clip has been played and this is because the media player being used is too bulky. a great example of this is windows media player 11 or itunes, a smaller player can help reduce the pressure on your computers resorces (CPU power and RAM) and help keep the performance up when it is playing your fave tunes, after all you dont want a slow computer whilst playing HKO just because you dont want to listen to the ingame music right?? (ok, ok, you could modify the game files but this may make it unplayable and will break the T&Cs of use!) A good, light and a genuinely good media player is VLC media player http://www.videolan.org. check it out and tell me is if it better or worse than your current player.

(ok, ok i admit this tip is kinda crummy but just trust me VLC rocks for all media formats)

till next time…

this morning when i tried to log onto HKO SEA i had not noticed that it had been taken down until 2 hours later *i guess i should have checked my e-mails first =0)* so i decided to have a look at the HKO site and to my great supprise the whole site has had a re-fit and also the latest HKO client is downloadable now but i warn you it has a heck of a lot of patches to do but its worth it in the end if you just cannot wait to get online. For more info and to download the client and start patching visit hellokittyonline.com for more information

PC Tip #4 Keep your computer up to date

keeping your computer allows Microsoft and Apple to fix bugs and glitches in their operating systems, fixing these bugs can improve the speed and reliability of your computer and a more reliability is always a good thing right?…

As i sit here typing this i cannot believe what i am seeing, has this world really fallen into the hands if evil dictators? or is terrorism spreading further than the Middle East, Europe and the USA? As i watch the primary news channel in the UK i suddenly hear of 2 hotels in Jakarta a major city in indonesia being bombed. is this what the people of this planet have resorted to in the current global economic status?

i don’t believe the world can recover if all we do is cause pain and suffering to one another, if we all want to return to the world that peacefull paradise we all wish for then why cannot we work together to achieve this target?

with every generation this existance becomes more and more tainted with the sorrow and hatred of others. when will we realise that we are hurting no one else but our own selves?

i guess till the population of this planet realises this we are going to end up seeing this more and more often as global tention builds

but enough of the somewhat grim reality and now for the next segment

PC tip #3 Clear your Junk out

Junk on your hard disk is one of many elements that can affect the performance of your computer, what is junk you ask? well junk is all the files that your computer saves to itself to help speed up the load times of web sites and services on your computer. the types of file can vary from the flash games found on sanriowtowns gaming section to the video you may have watched on you favorite video site like youtube. the thing is your computer must download these files to itself in order to read them correctly so over time more and more files will take more precious space on you HDD an untill someone says otherwise those files are there for good.

so what can i do about it?

there are loads of ways you can clear junk from your system.

one of the ways is to clear your internet browsers cache which can be done in the settings of each browser.

a second way is to use a secondary program to do the job for you a great little program i use is Ccleaner which does the job well, although as with all programs you should allways make a restore point before you install just in case your computer rejects the software.

(NOTE:)
I would never make a link to a utility unless i know it is safe and works on windows XP and Vista.

The news recently been plagued with countries saying other countries are “evil” and the N.Korea missile testing but what would Hello Kitty herself say bout all this? Cant the world just be peaceful? or will we have to face a constant global power struggle? this is not the world I originally would have wished for and I am sure billions of others would agree, sometimes i was just a character in an anime where everything is just perfect. im doubting the world will be at peace within my lifetime. in a way the intro to the song “World so cold” by Mudvane is the best way to show how i feel

Here is another PC tip to consider…(and in these hot summers this one my just save your computing life)

#2. Keep your PC free from dust…

After a long time a fair amount of dust will gather inside your computer and this can cause serious problems and could in extreme cases make your CPU fail completely due to overheating. The fact is Dust does not conduct heat well and too much on the major parts of your system, the most likely place for there to be dust build up is on the CPU heat-sink (the Heatsink is the metal radiator like thing underneath the fan over your CPU) the CPU fan pulls cool air onto the heat-sink to cool it down but if the there is a layer of dust all that heat will not vent as well as it needs to making your computer heat up faster and faster and the hotter the CPU becomes the slower your applications and games will run and in some cases will cause windows or linux to freeze on start. (me being the smart-alec tried to fire up a PC without a heat-sink once and never got past the windows 98 boot window, silly me but give me a break i was 8 at the time.)

the simple solution is to simply remove the heat-sink and fan and blow the dust off each component in turn but do not worry about the odd looking substance on the bottom of the heat-sink and CPU that is the thermal conducting paste used to move the heat from the CPU itself and move it to the Heat-sink which the fan on top of it will blow the hot air away, keeping the brain of your computer nice and chilled helping it perform at its peak.

I know i may have ranted on on this one but don’t forget to come back soon for more tips on helping your computer work at its best, how i feel on news topics and much, much more

For anyone who does not know i am a highly adept PC user but knowing that i will soon be posting tips on how you can keep your computer running at its best and also i am very happy to answer questions you, the people of Sanriotown have about general computing and maintaining a fast and reliable computer.

Enough of all that, lets get the first tip out the way.

#1. Keep your computer De-fragmented…

many may be wondering what Defragmenting is, so i will explain

every time you do anything on your computer pieces of data get moved around your HDD, over time parts of these files will spread out and become cluttered. (this will make it harder and slower for the computer to read all of the file in one go making things seem much more sluggish)
Imagine a desk with loads of paperwork scattered all over the place, it will be slower and harder to find the work you are looking for. but if all those pieces of paperwork where sorted into piles it will take less time to find what you need. Defragmenting does just that, it sorts out all the files so your computer can get what it needs faster and with less fuss.

Microsoft windows has this tool as part of it and can be found in the system tools folder in Accessories

START>> All Programs>> Accessories>> System Tools>> Disk Defragmenter

I will share more tips over time on how to keep that PC running smoothly but for now, Cya
