This Week’s Questions:

What do you / did you want to do when you grow up and why?

If you are all grown up now, have you managed to make that dream come true?

My answers:

Well, I’m a dreamer so I’ve had many jobs occupy my dreams about my future! When I was in grade 1 I wanted to be a teacher because I loved the smell of new books and all the stationary and I like being bossy! (I’ve now been a teacher for 2 years!) and when I was still in elementary school I wanted to be a police woman so I could help people and lock bad guys up (not going to happen, LOL…) Then later on in high school I wanted to be an air-hostess, I absolutely loved flying and love the feeling I get at the airport! (I’ve now developed a fear of flying so this is another dream that won’t happen…) I also contemplated architecture since I was tops in my grade for technical drawing and really loved geometry too… (I don’t think this will happen… but you never know!) I later dreamed of being a beauty therapist (and became one - for almost 2 years!) that’s when I came to Italy and studied to become a teacher… At some point I also wanted to be a tour guide! (I might take a course one day, it still interests me!) Now I have lots of interests and I’m sure I’ll never stop learning new things - I love learning new skills and until I find the job that makes me happy and I can do what I enjoy for a living, I’ll keep on studying and searching for my personal dream job! I’m sure it won’t at all be what I expect it to be… but either way, I’ve been blessed so far to always work in a place I loved, except only once, but that was temporary anyways! ;)

 Wow! It’s the tenth week of Sunday Social!

I’m just about to leave for a wonderful day at the lake with my family but *somebody* is late so I have a few minutes to do this before we leave - which leads me to today’s question…

This Week’s Questions:

Have you ever  been late and no matter how hard you tried, everything seemed to go wrong and just make things worse?

Tell us a story about when time was against you and you wished you had a superpower and could stop time!

My answers:

This happens to me quite often actually! I think the clock hates me!

Here’s a typical scene in my house in the mornings:

I set my alarm and it doesn’t go off… or I set it to PM and not AM, eek!

Then I can’t find this shirt or that pair of jeans or those particular earrings that match the outfit… it’s such a rush!

Then I start dropping things… it’s a disaster!

Then just as I finally think I’ve got everything done and I go out the door, I remember I’ve forgotten a very important book or my umbrella, or the scooter keys, or something else and have to dash back into the house! This sometimes happens multiple times in a row!!

Then on really bad days, the scooter decides it doesn’t want to start!?! Argh!!

*whishes to just crawl back into bed and start over*

Phew! Fortunately today is NOT a day like that! I’m early for once, Woohoo!!

I have no time to tag today - they’re calling me to leave now!

Hi there friends!

No, it’s not Sunday today, you haven’t mysteriously lost a day! :)

I just had some time so I thought I’d post some ideas I have had about Sunday Social.

One of the things that might prove to be difficult or negative about Sunday Social is actually the most important part - tagging 3 people!

Why is tagging 3 people so important?

Well, the whole idea for Sunday Social was born from the desire to find new and active blogs to read and to create a kind of blogging community with other bloggers. Many new bloggers are discouraged from blogging when they log on daily only to find they have no comments and dont know if anybody is reading what they write.

Blogging is a very good method to improve writing skills, discuss things with others, share ideas and experiences, etc. Just sharing what you have done or your hobbies or thoughts can also be very helpful in relieving stress and you’d be surprised how many friends you can make through common interests too!

The problem is I know it’s hard to find new blogs to link to each time, some people are having trouble with that, including me! But I have some ideas…

So what’s your idea, Nemo?

Since it’s difficult to find 3 different blogs to link to each week, even linking the same ones occasionally or rotating is ok, there are not that many old, interesting and active blogs out there as far as I can see. People tend to start then give up, but maybe if they are included in something like this meme, then they will see that their writing is not going unnoticed!

Another easy way to get more people involved is to link to some blogs that appear in the “Latest Posts” area of our dashboard! Many of the blogs linked in there are brand new, but that’s ok, they are active at the time of linking. That way we can get some new participants involved too. I’m sure they’d appreciate that they are getting some spotlight and new readers as many of them are new to SanrioTown and blogging and we “veterans” can make them feel welcome and at home! ;)

Another idea I’ve had was in regards to the questions I post each week…

Think of your best holiday - tell us about the destination and why it’s your favourite! My answers:

I’ll have to say Sweden, Stoccholm to be exact. I really loved the organisation, the clean fresh air, the friendly and helpful people, the clean city - no litter, everything was just beautiful! I’d love to go back there again. I really loved the way their roads were divided into lanes for cars and bicycles - even the roads that were being worked on still got divided to cater for pedestrians, cyclists and cars! Fantastic! And another great thing is their nature conservation - all natural sources of water (rivers, lakes, etc) are drinkable!! Now that’s cool! :)Here is my list of 3 SanrioTown blogs for this week:

Sunday Social (08)

So sorry to everybody who came by to find this week’s Sunday Social today. I’ve had a very busy weekend - very unusual, but true!

I was out both yesterday (Sat) and today (Sun) all day. I’m so tired!!

But… since it’s probably still Sunday somewhere on this planet I’ve just decided to go with it and post up this week’s SS anyways.

This Week’s Questions:

1. What’s your favourite homemade food? (meal/baked goods)
2. Share your recipe!

My answers:

I guess mine is a sort of salsa… I usually prefer salty over sweet so when I feel like something yummy this is a good option for me and that’s why I always like to have lots of fresh tomatoes in my fridge!

I like to put it on toast, crackers, even rice and meat dishes, yum!

Nemo’s Tomato Salsa:

• 3 red tomatoes
• 1 clove garlic
• 1/2 teaspoon dried origano, crushed to let the flavours out
• 3 tablespoons of olive oil
• salt and pepper to taste

1. Chop the tomatoes up into small cubes and put into a pretty bowl
2. Chop the garlic into tiny pieces or use a garlic crusher and add to tomatoes
3. Crush the origano over the tomato and garlic - I just rub the dried origano between my fingers to crush it
4. Add salt and pepper to the mixture
5. Pour the olive oil over everything and mix well
6. Let it stand a few minutes and mix again, taste, adjust salt
7. Enjoy over rice, meat, crackers or just plain toast!

What would you do if you shrunk to just 1 inch tall?

My answers:
I’d not go to work anymore because I’d be too small and I’d probably not need to work because I’d eat so little and could live in my best friend’s shirt pocket! Haha…

I could go everywhere with my friend and give advice and have fun and keep my friend company all the time :)

I’d have a little trouble blogging though! Perhaps I could use the iPod touch barefoot and jump from letter to letter on the touch screen to type my blogs! haha…

Wow, come to think about it, it could be really fun being so small!!

This Week’s Question:

If money and time were not a problem and you could go anywhere/do anything in this world, where would you go/what would you do?

My answers: I know I’m a bit old for this but I’d really like to go to Disneyland and spend a week there :) Then I’d also like to travel to Japan and to Iceland. Those are 2 places that interest me a lot.

Japan because of it’s culture, architecture, food and so many other things… Iceland because of it’s natural beauty and the fact that there are so few people around and the land is still virtually unspoilt… I am fascinated by it.

Then lastly I’d like to go to America, there are some friends I’d like to meet in person… I’ve known them for many years and I think it’s about time we meet! :)

Other than that, if I had lots of money and time I’d spend money helping those less fortunate or hit by natural disasters and volunteer with some missionary work or something similar - personally I can live on quite a little, so I’d easily be able to help others too.

This Week’s Questions:

1. Do you follow fashion trends or do you have your own style?

My answers: I don’t really follow fashion trends, at the moment I’m still a bit overweight so I have to wear what suits my current shape not the fashion models! I do however like to match colours in my clothes to the accessories and hair clips, bag charms and so on… I like to have everything matching and I enjoy making my own jewelry so that helps! I don’t really plan too far in advance, but sometimes, especially if I’m going out and when I’m working (On holiday now) I plan the night before so I’m sure everything is washed, ironed and ready. I really like bright colours but not busy prints, I prefer plain fabrics or simple designs ;)

Q: What was your favourite Birthday ever and what made it so special?

My answer: My 10th birthday was really cool, it was way back when discos were still for adults and well over 18s, but my mom organised a super “disco” party at home in our quadruple garage. We had movies, music, streamers, balloons, a Mini-Mouse cake, lots of snacks and I had my whole class over! That was the coolest party most of my friends had been to by that age ;)
