Moving, again!

November 27th, 2011 by nemo_0:mymelody.com
I’ve finally found a place that fits my budget and is way closer to work.

It’s not my own place as I’ll be sharing the house, but I have a huge room and share a really big kitchen and bathroom with 3 others.

I have a bay window and really high ceilings. The room is actually quite empty at the moment, but of course I have plans for it!

So this weekend has been all about packing up and moving out. I’m taking the last load for this weekend now, then it’s unpacking, cleaning up and getting ready for work tomorrow.

The new location cuts my commute by more than an hour, so I’ll be able to sleep a bit more than I have in the last 6 months. I’m looking forward to getting some rest!

Having more time also means I’ll probably be getting back to regular blogging again. Fingers crossed!

So here starts a new chapter in my life…

Very exciting!

Hello Friends!

April 25th, 2011 by nemo_0:mymelody.com

How are you all doing?

It’s been a while since I wrote a post on this blog and I’d like to tell you why.

I used to write quite often about my adventures in the Hello Kitty Online game, but for a few months now (since before Christmas!) I have not been able to find any more quests. It seems my game is a little bugged. I have nothing left to do because I cannot find any new quests on any of the maps. It’s sad really because I had a group of friends I was playing with and we used to do things together, now they have gone on ahead and I’m stuck wandering around looking for quests, talking to GMs for help and jsut getting frustrated.

I’ve even considered just cancelling my character and starting again, but to redo all those quests from scratch? I don’t know if I want to do that…

So the less time I spend on the game the less time I spend here because I had nothing more to write about, no reason to actually log in here because it just made me upset that I couldn’t go ahead.

Anyway, I hope that you are all having fun and that you enjoyed a lovely Easter break!

Please scroll down to read about my new Sunday Social on my other blog… I hope you will join in again :)

Happy blogging and happy questing!

Easter, Sunday Social, Budget & Diet

April 24th, 2011 by nemo_0:mymelody.com

Happy Easter my friends!

What a lovely day to celebrate the ressurection of Jesus and what that means for all who believe in Him.

Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I haven’t written on here for ages, I must admit I did forget about this blog, but I’ve figured out a way to keep it updated - probably on a weekly basis with updates and links to all my latest posts at Daily-dabble.com

Sunday Social

I’ve started up my Sunday Social meme again, but this time at Daily-dabble. I might still continue it elsewhere in the future, but at the moment it will only be hosted there. I’d love for all the old participants to join me again on this weekly blogging adventure!

Since my move to England a lot has changed in my life with regards to how I spend, eat and travel. This is due to my new living arrangements and much smaller budget. Find out how I’ve been saving money when grocery shopping, eating healthy and getting more exercise and menu planning on a budget.

New Job, New House, New Life

February 23rd, 2011 by nemo_0:mymelody.com

I’ve been living in the UK for a few months now and things seem to be working out for the best.

I am finally seeing many things I’ve been hoping for and dreaming about coming to life and am really happy about that.

Moving to a new country is a very stressful process and often a culture shock can cause serious problems. I’ve been in that situation before when my family moved to Italy. I’d always wanted to go there so it was really exciting, but the culture shock soon settled in as I realised how different everything was there and that things didn’t quite work they way I thought they should - we had to start marching to a different drum… it just started getting harder and harder to live with.

Coming to England has been completely different. Instead of feeling like I’m in a new country, I tend to feel more like I’ve returned home. I feel more at home here and not only because I can speak the language properly and understand everything around me, but culturally I feel like I fit in better.

As the title suggests, when moving to a new location you have to think of many important things like a new job and accommodation and a new lifestyle.

I have been lucky to find a really rewarding job in a field I’m truly interested in and I hope that I can continue in this line of work for many years to come.

Unfortunately the work I found is a long way from where I’ve been living and I’m now in the process of looking for new accommodation - again.

I have my sights set on a place really close to work, and if everything goes to plan I should be moving in next week! It’s really exciting! Living closer to work means I will save valuable time and travel money which is a huge bonus when you’re starting a new life - every extra penny is a blessing because you can start saving up for emergencies and unforseen costs, not to mention start building a good credit history which will be very useful in the future if like me you’d want to get your own property.

With all the extra time I’ll gain I’ll be able to work on some things I’ve not been able to do in years. Things like blogging, regular exercise, hobbies, being a good homemaker, etc… I’m really looking forward to it!

It’s a much slower paced life than what I’ve been living in Italy. Even living in the Italian countryside life still seemed rushed and I never had time for myself.

I’ve been praying about all this, although not as much as I could have I know, but it seems that God is truly showing me favour and has shown me blessing after blessing even in this uncertain time.

Life is good, God is awesome!

Away for a while

October 30th, 2010 by nemo_0:mymelody.com

Hello friends!

Thanks for stopping by.

Unfortunately things are really hectic around here at the moment and I cannot keep up with blogging no matter how much I might want to sometimes.

So this is to say I’ll be away from my blogs for a while, not sure how long though.

Happy blogging and happy questing to all!!! ^_^

Dont forgetThis Week’s Questions:

What do you / did you want to do when you grow up and why?

If you are all grown up now, have you managed to make that dream come true?

My answers:

Well, I’m a dreamer so I’ve had many jobs occupy my dreams about my future! When I was in grade 1 I wanted to be a teacher because I loved the smell of new books and all the stationary and I like being bossy! (I’ve now been a teacher for 2 years!) and when I was still in elementary school I wanted to be a police woman so I could help people and lock bad guys up (not going to happen, LOL…) Then later on in high school I wanted to be an air-hostess, I absolutely loved flying and love the feeling I get at the airport! (I’ve now developed a fear of flying so this is another dream that won’t happen…) I also contemplated architecture since I was tops in my grade for technical drawing and really loved geometry too… (I don’t think this will happen… but you never know!) I later dreamed of being a beauty therapist (and became one - for almost 2 years!) that’s when I came to Italy and studied to become a teacher… At some point I also wanted to be a tour guide! (I might take a course one day, it still interests me!) Now I have lots of interests and I’m sure I’ll never stop learning new things - I love learning new skills and until I find the job that makes me happy and I can do what I enjoy for a living, I’ll keep on studying and searching for my personal dream job! I’m sure it won’t at all be what I expect it to be… but either way, I’ve been blessed so far to always work in a place I loved, except only once, but that was temporary anyways! ;)

Now for my 3 SanrioTown blog links:

  1. Adventures of PinkPuff - a new and promising blog… and interesting and very kawaii story about a… well, PinkPuff! I look forward to reading more!
  2. In the Sky - Leigh blogs about shopping, fashion, photography and anime!
  3. The Magical BunnyWinx Zone - the title says it all! ^_^

Have fun everybody!! Happy Sunday!!!

Sunday Social (10)

September 26th, 2010 by nemo_0:mymelody.com

Wow! It’s the tenth week of Sunday Social!

A very big thanks to all the weekly participants and a warm welcome to all the new participants this week!

I’m just about to leave for a wonderful day at the lake with my family but *somebody* is late so I have a few minutes to do this before we leave - which leads me to today’s question…

Dont forgetThis Week’s Questions:

Have you ever  been late and no matter how hard you tried, everything seemed to go wrong and just make things worse?

Tell us a story about when time was against you and you wished you had a superpower and could stop time!

My answers:

This happens to me quite often actually! I think the clock hates me!

Here’s a typical scene in my house in the mornings:

I set my alarm and it doesn’t go off… or I set it to PM and not AM, eek!

Then I can’t find this shirt or that pair of jeans or those particular earrings that match the outfit… it’s such a rush!

Then I start dropping things… it’s a disaster!

Then just as I finally think I’ve got everything done and I go out the door, I remember I’ve forgotten a very important book or my umbrella, or the scooter keys, or something else and have to dash back into the house! This sometimes happens multiple times in a row!!

Then on really bad days, the scooter decides it doesn’t want to start!?! Argh!!

*whishes to just crawl back into bed and start over*

Phew! Fortunately today is NOT a day like that! I’m early for once, Woohoo!!

I have no time to tag today - they’re calling me to leave now!

I’ll tag some friends when I return…

Have fun everybody!! Happy Sunday!!!

Sunday Social Ideas

September 25th, 2010 by nemo_0:mymelody.com

Hi there friends!

No, it’s not Sunday today, you haven’t mysteriously lost a day! :)

I just had some time so I thought I’d post some ideas I have had about Sunday Social.

One of the things that might prove to be difficult or negative about Sunday Social is actually the most important part - tagging 3 people!

Why is tagging 3 people so important?

Well, the whole idea for Sunday Social was born from the desire to find new and active blogs to read and to create a kind of blogging community with other bloggers. Many new bloggers are discouraged from blogging when they log on daily only to find they have no comments and dont know if anybody is reading what they write.

Blogging is a very good method to improve writing skills, discuss things with others, share ideas and experiences, etc. Just sharing what you have done or your hobbies or thoughts can also be very helpful in relieving stress and you’d be surprised how many friends you can make through common interests too!

The problem is I know it’s hard to find new blogs to link to each time, some people are having trouble with that, including me! But I have some ideas…

So what’s your idea, Nemo?

Since it’s difficult to find 3 different blogs to link to each week, even linking the same ones occasionally or rotating is ok, there are not that many old, interesting and active blogs out there as far as I can see. People tend to start then give up, but maybe if they are included in something like this meme, then they will see that their writing is not going unnoticed!

Another easy way to get more people involved is to link to some blogs that appear in the “Latest Posts” area of our dashboard! Many of the blogs linked in there are brand new, but that’s ok, they are active at the time of linking. That way we can get some new participants involved too. I’m sure they’d appreciate that they are getting some spotlight and new readers as many of them are new to SanrioTown and blogging and we “veterans” can make them feel welcome and at home! ;)

Another idea I’ve had was in regards to the questions I post each week…

If anybody has an idea for Sunday Social questions, please email me at

nemo_0 (at) mymelody (dot) com

Include:

  1. your question
  2. the link to your blog
  3. the link to a button to represent your blog (a blogroll button)

When I use your question for Sunday Social I’ll link to your blog with your button in my sidebar for a week so your blog will get some special attention ;)

You might have noticed I don’t link to other blogs with images, but if I use your question I’ll link with your image for a week so that it stands out on my blog and gets noticed!

If you have any suggestions regarding these ideas or have any ideas of your own, please email me and I’ll consider them happily!

I’d like to thank all the Sunday Social participants for taking part each week and answering the questions in such detail - I love reading your answers!!

Remember to support each other and check out everybody else’s answers and comment! Everybody loves to get new comments and meet new blog friends!

Have a super Saturday everybody, see you tomorrow for a brand new Sunday Social!

Dont forgetThis Week’s Questions:

Think of your best holiday - tell us about the destination and why it’s your favourite! My answers:

I’ll have to say Sweden, Stoccholm to be exact. I really loved the organisation, the clean fresh air, the friendly and helpful people, the clean city - no litter, everything was just beautiful! I’d love to go back there again. I really loved the way their roads were divided into lanes for cars and bicycles - even the roads that were being worked on still got divided to cater for pedestrians, cyclists and cars! Fantastic! And another great thing is their nature conservation - all natural sources of water (rivers, lakes, etc) are drinkable!! Now that’s cool! :)Here is my list of 3 SanrioTown blogs for this week:

  1. Zaphod from Don’t Panic! (our first ever Sunday Social participant!)
  2. Rosie from Dreams Awaken
  3. Kira Kira from Living in Pink
