Vocaloid 2: Megurine Luka

Monday, October 12th, 2009

vocaloid 2 cosplay - megurine lukaFirst released on January 30, 2009, Megurine Luka is the voice of a 20-year-old girl who can sing in both Japanese and English. Her voice actress is Asakawa Yu and she was designed by Manga Artist, Kei, the same designer of Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, and Kagamine Len. Like her predecessors, Luka’s is based on “sound” (ne) combined with the term “circulate” (meguri).

According to this blog, the cosplayer is known as Ibara, and she has a ton of cosplays done already. I think this is one of my favorites from her works though. Thank you for sharing this!

vocaloid 2 cosplay - kagamine rin by kipi

The second installment from Vocaloid 2, Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len are 2 voice synthesizers packaged into one. According to their official blog, Rin and Len are not siblings, but mirrors of one another. In fact, the family name is comprised of "kagami" meaning "mirror" and "ne" meaning "sound". Rin and Len is also a pun for Left and Right.

Kipi makes an awesome Rin. I wonder who’d be a fitting Len for her?

vocaloid 2 cosplay - hatsune miku 02From a music synthesizer to various appearances in anime, manga, and games, Hatsune Miku has won the hearts of many and fulfilled the dreams of hopeful composers.

Her voice comes from actual samplings by Fujita Saki, a voice actress in Japan. And because of Miku’s popularity, a Playstation Portable game known as “Hatsune Miku: Project Diva” will be released later this year.

She makes a pretty cute Miku. If anyone has any idea who this is or where this picture was from, please do let me know so that I can properly credit this photo and the cosplayer!

Vocaloid: Black Rock Shooter

vocaloid cosplay - black rock shooterAs Hatsune Miku takes away the aspiring composers by storm, a new character known as Black Rock Shooter emerges.

She looks like the black version of Hatsune Miku, but she’s actually an original creation by Huke who worked with the composer of Black Rock Shooter, Ryo. Because of the song’s popularity, someone went ahead and cosplayed her and was photographed by Jack Hanger.

Pretty cool cosplay! I bet a lot of girls would be trying to cosplay as BRS pretty soon! Thanks for sharing this Jack!

vocaloid cosplay - kaitoThe Japanese male voice and character of the singing synthesizer application software originally developed by Yamaha Corporation, Kaito is often depicted as Hatsune Miku’s partner. His character has been licensed by a third party known as Crypton Future in Japan.

This is , the same person from Flickr who provided C.C. from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Only, this is 帝 herself, cosplaying as Kaito. Thanks for sharing your photo with us!

vocaloid 2 cosplay - hatsune miku

Double post day perhaps? You know I have something really good when I double post… More to my amusement really.

To the fans of my previous cosplay article, including: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi: Suzumiya Haruhi, Gundam Seed Destiny: Meer Campbell 03, Inuyasha: Kikyo and Inuyasha, Inyusaha: Inuyasha… I give you, the name behind the cosplays… Arisa Mizuhara!

I was only able to find her after reading up an article on Vocaloid 2, which is apparently a “singing” synthesizer. But anyway, the character they made, Hatsune Miku, is rather cute and I thought I’d look up to see if anyone cosplayed her yet.

That’s how I found Arisa… Thank you, Google!

Please visit Arisa’s site, which has a lot more impressive cosplays!
