Gankutsuou: Le Comte de Monte Cristo
A mysterious noble man who suddenly appears in the Moon Colony, Luna, Le Comte de Monte Cristo or “The Count of Monte Cristo” is actually Edmond Dantès, a plain sailor who was imprisoned in Château d’If on false charges. It’s on Château d’If that he meets Gankutsuou, a cold-blooded demon who promises him revenge in exchange for possessing his body. It is because of the demon that his body became crystalline, revealing his bones and internal organs.
Another fantastic shot by Tony Quan, the same photographer behind the Bleach cosplay, Ayasegawa Yumichika, during Anime Expo 2007. I really like this anime for its original style in animation. And of course, “The Count of Monte Cristo” is an excellent novel in itself. Thanks for sharing!
