I believe several people speculated this to be someone from Final Fantasy, though I’ve never really gotten her character name. From what I know about this image (aside from it sitting in my old hard drive for a while now), it was taken from PC Online and she’s a character from an MMO game.
Other than that, the background of the photo looks the same as Aerith Gainsborough’s from Final Fantasy VII. Taken at the same time in the same venue maybe?

This costume is beautiful
I was just surfing through blogs here and my husband recognized the character instantly (he even grabbed the game box to show me), he was going to get me to reply to you but Nathan already covered it! A really cool and interesting blog you have!
