He lives in the City of Edge with Tifa, Marlene, and Denzel. It was peaceful until Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo decided to confront him and threaten the children.

The Black Feathers are there because Cloud
has been called the “Dark Angel” or some version
of that.
Like, for example, in Kingdom Hearts, he has a pair of black wings.
