Death Note: The Parody

I’ve never posted a picture of a cosplay that looks nothing like the original anime or manga character. I only post pictures that I really like… But the cosplays that I like doesn’t necessarily have to look like the original anime.

Was that confusing? Well, let me show you a video I found on Sanriotown’s Dream Studio to give you a sample. Just let it load for a while first before playing it…

Thanks to Drift X for uploading the video. Please leave your comments for the video here.

I’m guess you guys all know this iis a SMAPxSMAP parody called “Debu Note”? That girl is Karina the CM queen, and that fat guy is Inagaki Gorou of SMAP, and the interviewer is Kusanagi Tsuyoshi of SMAP? It’s rare that a major Johnny’s show makes fun of an anime property, but that’s how main stream Death Note has become in Japan. All of the people appears on this parody is 10x more popular to the average Japanese than Death Note.

It is quite a feat for them, I must agree. That’s why I found this video to be most impressive. I still need to finish watching Death Note to fully appreciate this I think, since right now, it’s simply funny to me. :)
