A local form of transportation here in the Philippines, the jeepney was developed from the “jeeps” which were brought here by the Americans during their occupation. These local jeepneys are decked up with colorful decorations - with moving miniature steel horses on springs that bounce up and down as the jeepney travels and creatively painted body which reveals the artistic nature of the Filipinoes.
I took this photo on a trip to Palawan, the army guys were on the boat to the island and rode on top of the jeepney as we traveled the dirt road to the local Busuanga airport. The friendly army guys happily posed for me as I took this shot.
