Yosemite National Park - to the left is El Capitan on the right is Bridal Veil Falls and Half Dome.

One of my favorite places during this recent trip was a visit to Yosemite National Park. The highlight of the trip to the park was the view of El Capitan, Bridal Veil and Half Dome.

El Capitan is a solid  granite rock that stands 3,000ft (910m) above sea level and is the largest existing granite monolith in the world! It is truely amazing to see this natural structure. This rock is also a favorite and challenging exercise for any expert rock climber and base jumper.

I went for a short stroll among the redwood trees to get closer to the Bridal Veil falls. It was summer time already, but I was fortunate to see water from the falls. The water comes from the melted snow on top of the mountain. During spring, you can distinctly see the 3 levels of the waterfalls as it goes down the mountainside.

Do you see those people at the bottom of the waterfalls and those big boulders? The Bridal Veil Falls is 620ft high and is really amazing to see. I was so tempted to kick my shoes off and get closer, climbing over those huge boulders, but because we had other places to see, I have to be contented just sitting nearby and listening to the ironically quiet noise of the waterfalls.

I don’t think I was able to fully capture the beauty of the place through my photos and it left me a little frustrated. I really should practice more so I won’t miss out on opportunities like these again. Nonetheless, I hope you are enjoying the photos so far. :)

I found this travel site which shows 360 degree virtual tour of Yosemite. You can check it out here.
