Celsius Gastrolounge-6

Another QC adventure for us but this would be the last Saturday food trip adventure for us because going here and back to our place is such a waste of time!  Sunday would be a better time to do this and hopefully, queue line would not be long since Sunday would always be a family day for us, Filipinos to eat out.

Celsius Gastrolounge-11

Hoppers (P299 +10%sc). Sauteed five spiced frog legs. Served with spicy salt, ginger, green onions, garlic chips and chili slices.

AD thought this was chicken.  He liked it except for some spicy ones.  This was okay.  They included a spiced salt like the one you put when eating pigeon but I prefer to eat it with no sauce at all since these frog legs are already marinated.

Celsius Gastrolounge-13 Celsius Gastrolounge-14

Celsius Tuna Taster (P225 +10%sc). Fresh tuna loin two ways: pepper-crusted and pan-seared meets chopped and marinated kinilaw served with arugula relish tossed in Asian dressing and crispy garlic chips.

Can’t eat this so let HB be the judge and my parents.  Looks good, reminded me of the dinner we had at Chef Bruce’s place!  But oh!  We had mixed tuna and salmon at Bruce’s!

Celsius Gastrolounge-17
Simmered leg of kambing “Ghoulash” served with garlic croutons garnished with Asian Pesto (P150 +10%sc).

Salty for its tasty…Didn’t really taste the kambing and the asian pesto….you can notice that they have fusion dishes here….HB told me that serving fusion dishes are not the IN thing anymore so why go into this business?  Hmmm….that I do not know, just hope they survive!

Celsius Gastrolounge-19
Chorizo and Spinach Stuffed Chicken (P395+10%sc). Seasoned chicken breast stuffed with chorizo bilbao, cream cheese, and spinach served with wild mushroom cream sauce, cassoulet of vegetables and grilled red pepper coulis.

What made this a hit? Because of the cream they put!  Cream cheese, cream sauce!  Naku!  That did it!  Yikes!  This was good but didn’t get to taste the minimal chorizo bilbao….

Celsius Gastrolounge-21
Corn and Cheese Agnolotti (P395+10%sc). Pillows of fresh pasta stuffed with roasted corn, kesong puti, and brunoise of roasted pepper, in bacon garlic cream with crispy pumpkin flowers and roasted cherry tomatoes.

The kids loved this!  Who wouldn’t?  This is a good way to hide vegetables!  Sarap!  Creamy!  Once again, heavy on the stomach and heavy on the calories.  Kinda heavy on the pocket too!  I may be full in eating this alone but it would not really satisfy me because I’m a rice person.  Kulang ito sa akin!

Celsius Gastrolounge-22

Celsius Baboy (P395+10%sc). Duo of pork: Indonesian braised liempo with southwestern barbecue back ribs. Served over kani-slaw.

The BBQ back ribs was okay but was not falling off the bones :(…I wasn’t able to taste the braised liempo…I liked the spiciness of the kani-slaw but the kani strips were barely seen.

Celsius Gastrolounge-23
Chorizo fried rice (P80+10%sc). Smoked bacon, chorizo bilbao, scrambled eggs and black pepper.

I was not in the right mind, I should’ve ordered plain rice.  I feel I wouldn’t really get the taste of the dishes we order if the rice has its own flavor.  It’s like ordering another dish.  Not a fan…plain rice please!

They served us compli bread but was hoping we could have refills but they charge you for P10/bread.  Of course, I don’t order even if AD wants more.  Why not give it for free?

THAI DARA

Thai Dara-5

Thai Iced Tea, Lemongrass Ice Tea (12 oz - P45)

I needed to drink something other than H20.  Ooppss…was there any hint of lemongrass?….drank 2 glass of this…with or without the lemongrass….I’ll have to look into one of the issue of Yummy magazine where they shared the ingredients to this drink.

Thai Dara-7

Tom Yum Seafood (P229) - Famous Thai spicy soup with shrimp, mushroom, lemongrass, galanga and kaffir leaves.

This was a HIT for me!  Spicy! yummy!  Forget about everything else on the table!

Thai Dara-8

Pad Thai (P199) - Sweet, crunchy noodle with chicken & shrimps, tofu, radish, dry shrimps, beansprout, green onion and peanuts.

HB ordered this…I didn’t like it.  The noodle tasted…hmmmm….I let him finish it.

Thai Dara-6

Thai BBQ Chicken Budget Meal (P99) - Thai Marinated half chicken with sweet & sour sauce and Rice.

Just to fill us up, we tried this chicken bbq budget meal, it was okay :)  At least, it has the hint of Thai.

I wish they’ll have wifi service here…but then they close at 3pm then just re-open for dinner.

HB’s itching to go out while I’m sooo not in the mood.  Nowadays, I feel like I’m tired to go out and eat gourmet food.  It’s sooooo hard to pick what I like! :(  Being in this position is definitely not fun!  Can’t wait for next year, BB5!  :D

Classic French Onion Soup (P160). Gruyere Cheese Crouton

Cold night…need a hot soup to warm me up….I vowed to make my own so I don’t have to order it here or anywhere!  The soup was just okay.  I think I can do it better.

Baked Davao Goat Cheese Tart (P220). Tomato Coulis, Goat Cheese, Ligurian Olives and Fresh Arugula

Loved this!  The tart was almost like the phyllo sheets….reminds me of the crusty dough flaky issue at A********….Love the arugula!   It made the difference.

Angus Beef Rib (P1,680). Grilled to your liking, served with Braised Red Wine Shallots and Bone Marrow (Good for Two).

Medium well.  Yummy.  Braved in eating and ordering this…we’re not really a steak couple but HB decided that this was the best dish to order THAT night!  I had to agree!  Very tasty….he loved the shallots!  To my dismay the “fat” inside the marrow was already hard and cold….but didn’t mind it much…at least the steak was superb!  Had to take some home…too much meat….at night….won’t be able to sleep immediately.

Selection of Cream Custards (P140). Davao Vanilla, Green Tea and Coffee

We were tasting the custard creams over and over wondering why it doesn’t match with what their menu has itemized….They (the dessert team) took the liberty to change the flavors without informing the servers nor changing the menu.  Minute details…but still!

Taste was creamy, it was okay but not super duper delicious.

I leave the rest of the story to my HB…101 ADF + Enderun.  Was he satisfied?  Read on…

Additional sharing:  Did you know that nowadays, AD has already something to say when we visit a restaurant?

“The bread is hard.”  “Restrooms are clean, Momma!”  “Do they have crayolas, Momma?” “I don’t want to go back here, Momma because….”

He now has a mind of his own….Uh-oh…!
