Dayo the Movie

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

This is the second time where AD watched a movie with us.  At first, he still didn’t want to go with us because he was busy playing but then, he realized that he will be staying at home while we go out.  He quickly ran up to us and agreed to go, forgetting why, as long as he goes out of the house.  That is all that matters to him.

As we drove to SM Megamall, we have prepped him once again on what to expect.  He was very quiet while listening to us.  We would wait for his reply to know if he understands what we just told him.  If nothing was heard from him, we explain the situation to him once again. But he said, YES at once!

Off we went to the cinema to watch…
Dayo the Movie

I didn’t know what to expect (that was careless of me) but then, there were soooo many kids so I guess, it was alright.

Buboy Winner

This is Bubuy, star of the movie DAYO.

Anna Mananangirl

And Ana, the Manananggirl.

Dayo is the story of an 11-year old boy named Bubuy who tries to save his grandparents who were forcibly taken to Elementalia. Elementalia is a mystical place, where unearthly plants and creatures reside — particularly characters from Philippine mythology.

I liked the movie because the animation was great and story was nicely written (can relate to some scenes too!).  There was also a scene that I got teary-eyed (again?!  yep, that’s how sensitive I am.  Feel na feel ko ang movie! hahaha).  I was also on guard because there are scenes where AD was still uncomfortable where there would be fighting or any violent scenes.  He doesn’t like those.  What I do is just to hold his hand and let him feel that I am there beside him.  In the end, he finished the complete movie.  Hurray!

There were also scenes where I had to explain to him that shouldn’t be done because it was bad.  I just hope he understands it though while he is engrossedly watching the movie.  This is one of the reason why I’m hesitant to also let him watch movies/ cartoons frequently because at his age, he is exploring and very curious and always receiving information not knowing if it is right or wrong.  That’s why as much as I can, I have to explain things to him over and over again like a broken record.  I just hope it gets through AD.

Anyway, try to watch the movie on the 25th if you have nothing to do.  Once you get out of the moviehouse, you’ll be singing the theme song…..Lipad, lipad….kaya mong lumipad!

Isa Pa! (One More!)

I’d probably buy this IF I have a daughter…so I’ll also have an excuse to use it if she has no school or will just be staying home for the weekend.  But definitely, I’ll be going gaga if I see so many dents!….I know, I know, you buy it to use it not to just keep it scratch free!  But I pay a huge amount of money just to have dents on it?….. And yep, that’s why I’m the only one in the family who doesn’t have a SIGG bottle.  I don’t want my SIGG bottle to be scratched nor with dents!…That’s my story….but I’m almost there….there….into getting one….

SuperBoy named AD

Camp Sambros-22

Our boy, AD is one brave boy.  I was quite hesitant to let him ride the 380meter zipline with us but he insisted.  I had to make sure that he really wanted to do it.  And he said, YES.  He thought it would be fun.  Yes, I think he had fun but it also scared him.  Just look at the above photo op moment.  Now, he knew what situation he entered into but cannot back out anymore. I was afraid for him that he would back out at the last minute that I cannot do anything to stop us from flying.  While flying, I was waiting for him to cry but I heard none.  Boy, AD sure was brave for that few seconds of us flying out there!  I didn’t hear anything from him (He was shocked to even do something!).  I just hope he was able to look around while he was being the SuperBoy.

Camp Sambros-27

This was how we returned to our starting point ~ via cable lift!  I would prefer to ZIP back than to ride this cable car.  More fun to be zipped back faster but then, you wouldn’t be able to really enjoy the greens surrounding Camp Sabros.  It sure was fun to have zipped from here and there and everywhere!  Can’t wait for the longer zipline of Camp Sabros!  Yes, those are pine trees which Mr. Edwin Sakdalan, owner of Camp Sabros, planted years ago.   Boy, I forgot to bring my jacket so I was almost freezing out there.  It was like being in Baguio!  It was soo cold!  And we were there till past 4pm!  So just imagine the cold and windy weather with just that nursing blouse on! Bbrrrr!!!!

Price for this ride is only P150/ head.  The ride includes a 380meter tandem ride and a cable lift.

I’ve got a confession to make…I was only supposed to get this ride and I’m done (my excuse was to be with JX and AD)!  But after the tandem ride, I can’t wait to go on my 2nd longer zipline ride!   Zippity zoe!  Here I go!

More ziplining adventures on my next entries….

Somebody’s Enjoying The Parlor Games

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Ahh….AD’s enjoying the party!  Now, he’s really a grown up…participating in the parlor games.

The boat is sinking….group yourself into 3!  I can see the excitement in AD’s face as he panics and looks around…waiting to be hugged by the older kids and be grouped with them.  Just look at his face…He was happy!

Enzo Jollibee Party-5

Proud to be part of a team.  I forgot what game they were playing.  They lost but it was okay.  At least, AD got to join..and still get a prize!  He excitedly open the prizes he got and later on, forgets about them…until now.

Enzo Jollibee Party-3

Longest line of coins…Again, they lost!  I didn’t bring any bag with me because it might get lost.  I was carrying JX so my attention would just be diverted so I decided just to bring the kids’ bag.  I did not contribute a coin!  I was disappointed with myself as AD was scampering and looking for a coin I can give him.  My HB neither had any coins in his pocket.  It was nice of my couple friends, X&J, to give him a few coins so he can “give” something to the group.  Thank you X&J for being a very considerate parents to my son, AD.  I was really touched because instead of giving it all to their daughter, they shared some coins to my son.
