Wednesday, September 30th, 2009Thai Salad (which is a bit spicy) with a small piece of bread with pate
weird….i thought we were in a french restaurant….thai salad?
Soupe a L’Oignon (P250 +10%sc). Caramelized Onion Soup with White Wine & Gratineed
Yummy! On a rainy day like this, we need a warm cup of soup to heat us up! Love it! (Been ordering this lately…i’ll try to make one at home! Time to really do some work! I’ll be very busy in a couple of months!)
Poulet Roti Provencal (P350 +10%sc). Roast Spring Chicken stuffed with Forty Cloves of Garlic, Provence Herbs & served with Sauteed Potatoes & Saffron Aioli Sauce
I’m not fond of dry chicken nowadays…didn’t want to eat HB’s food…
Bouillabaisse (P635+10%sc). Seafood Stew from Marseille with Scallops, served with Garlic Croutons and Saffron Aioli Sauce
Nyek! Surprised to see a clear soup…is it really clear or I’m just used to cream based soup that has been altered for Filipino tastebuds once again….always a victim!
Would love to try those pates and sausages….maybe next year once I’ve popped BB5 out! :D Till then!
Nougat Glace aux Pistaches (P250+10%sc). Iced Nougat with Ginger Pistachios (Provence) and Almond Tuiles
Quite unique dessert. At first, you will not like it but after two slices, you’ll want it all to yourself. I guess the ginger makes it very peculiar.
We also bought their macarons but it was soooo big….and was just okay.
I was also surprised that La Cuisine was open on a Sunday and not jampacked. Surprised because its location is within the office buildings and usually, restos situated there are closed because of non-revenue day for them and I guess, it’s a rest day for their staff.

Monday, September 28th, 2009Out meeting place…co-moms and business meetings…where they don’t close at 2pm and not so much people after lunch (or maybe now, they’ll have!) They have wifi but in certain areas only, better ask them where before you are assigned to a table.
Bonggang-Bonggang Binagoongan (P245 +sc). Super crunchy pork with local shrimp paste and strips of “manibalang” mango.
The shrimp paste made this yummy for me. It was a sweet flavored shrimp paste! And yes, it went well with the crunchy skin of the pork. Deadly!
Munggo ng Mayaman (P200 +sc). Semi-thick munggo bean soup with prawns, tinapa and palutik.
I’m fond of monggo as our dish. During lenten season, I would look forward to Friday when we would have this. I prefer to have smoked fish cooked with the monggo over pork.
I was excited to try this….hmmmm….uh-oh, this doesn’t taste monggo! Yikes! You know why, I didn’t put the chicharon! But even so, shouldn’t it taste the monggo dish you love? Maybe, I’ll try this again when I’m not in this time of my pregnancy. Somehow, my tastebud is really affected.
Potchero ni Tankeko (P295 +sc). Slow-stewed beef in a mush of yams, plantains, tomato sauce and veggies.
This is also good. The topping you see there is the kamote (sweet potato) which they mashed and you’ll mixed it with the potchero. The beef was also tenderly cooked. I liked its softness. Good thing, there’s no saba (sweet banana) in there because I feel it’s so out of place in a non-sweet dish. hahaha Not fond of sweet banana nor pineapple in a main dish.

Kamias Cooler (Tall Glass-P65, Pitcher-P250)
P65*3 = P195. Cheaper if we ordered by the glass instead of pitcher. I thought it would come out more sulit but apparently, it was definitely not! They need to change their pricing not the glass they use.
Back to the Kamias cooler, love this. It’s like drinking green mangoes! But it is better to drink it instead of saving it until you had your last spoon of the main dish. Best to drink while it’s freshly blended.
What I like best here? The way they named their dishes! :) I’d love to go back here…cozy….and can stay until the kids’ dismissal! Ting!

Sunday, September 27th, 2009Instead of the usual bread with dip, we had this nachos as our appetizer…FREE! :) We had fun munching nachos, unahan pa!
Carne Asada (Seasoned Beef) Burrito - P155 for Grandes. Classic Burrito, choice meat, rice, chili con carne, corn, cheese, sour cream, wrapped in a medium or large tortilla.
Yum! Yum! Jampacked! I really liked their white sweet sauce! I’m sure the taste of the sauce was tweaked for the Filipino to like everything with it! The beef was quite good too!
Sofrito Cream Dory Con Blanco Queso - P205. Cream Dory Fish cooked and tenderized in aluminum foil, served with a popular Latin American sauce called Sofrito (”Well Cooked and Fragrant Sauce”, Spanish Original)
From the looks of it, the fish was too oily and creamy and whitey for me this time. But the kids love it! Non-stop eating with rice!
Hungarian Sausage Con Queso - P95. Part of the Cocina Juan Poquito Meals — choice meat and sauce rice meals served anytime from lunch to dinner.
The sausage was too thinly sliced! Didn’t really get to taste the actual sausage and it was topped with cheese pa. M, did you like this? I think you did! I would’ve liked this too if the slices were a bit thicker.
Cerdo Castillo Chimichurri (Pork Ribs) - P225. Pork meat served with a popular Central American sauce called chimichurri - Argentinian origin and adapted by all Latin American countries.
Patok na patok! This is a hit! For only P225, wow! This was big for it’s price and was worth it! Packed and very yummy! HB liked the chimichurri sauce very much!
Carne Asada (Seasoned Beef) Pita Pizza - P155. Cocina Juan-inspired tortilla pizza served with choice meat combinations
Sopa Corracha con Frio Crema - P115. A Panamanian dessert, also known as drunken cake
The kids didn’t like the dessert, me neither. HB liked it though. I’m not fond of fruit cakes.
