Time is Gold

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

“Watches can constantly remind kids that their time is running and they need to do what needs to be done right away,” notes R Diaz, blogger and loving mom to AD and JX. “Watch with character designs help kids become more aware of the time since these watches visually appeal to them. As they make use of their watch more often, they learn the value of time in their daily activities.”

With AD, I can see that knowing the time makes a difference with how he completes a task.  It just takes more patience at time when he forgets but that’s how he will learn.  Practice makes perfect.  Through this, JX would also follow his Ahiya’s suit.

Care to share your most effective time management techniques you give out to your kids and get a chance to win a watch from Kids Watch Central?

Moms can share short anecdotes on how they implement these techniques and what was the outcome of these to their children.  We’d love to hear from you so please do share with us your stories!

The top three-(3) moms to send their most unique and interesting answers will be given one (1) Kids Watch Central Watch each.

Deadline for Submission of Entries is until 24 August 2009, 12noon.Winners may claim their prizes at GeiserMaclang c/o Arbee Panga at Unit 7D Tuscan Building, 114 V.A. Rufino St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Yay! My Blood Sugar!

Mr and Mrs OAP Blood Sugar-2

Red Alert!

Am I within the range of having a normal rate?  My HB says I’m over the normal range but I’m not sure.   Usually when I have my physical annual exam, I am within range results so I got alarmed by what I saw.

Another reasoning I’m debating with HB is that I didn’t fast for 8 hours.  This was taken at around 4am where I ate at 9pm.  So, is this valid?

Now, I’m paranoid!  Instead of lessening my intake of glucose, I tend to eat the food that is high in sugar!  Just like last night where I got all kinds of dessert (but one of each kind only)…It’s like wanting to slim down but you hear the food’s calling out your name to taste them!  More temptation!  Somebody stop me!!!!

I think I need to evalaute my eating habits and hopefully, I get back to my sporty self…I’m sure HB would be happy to hear this!  He’ll once again have a partner and be motivated to lose weight!

Camp Sambros-80

…with a friend of mine the other night, a young man with a dog smiled at me.  And I smiled back (no, I don’t do this often.). Then suddenly, he asked if I was from this university and I said yes.  To cut the long story short, I was kinda surprised that he asked me that question and not, “Aren’t you….? or You’re….”

Wala lang…Don’t get me wrong but I was just surprised and flattered at the same time that he remembered me in college (and embarassed that I don’t recognize him) and that I was still look the same BUT slimmer now (hahaha).  That made my night (hahaha) aside from M paying our dinner bill (Thanks M!).

My Goals for Y2009

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Thinking so hard on what I really want in life aside from being a mother to my 2 wonderful boys and a wife to my one and only HubbyBubbly, I got HB’s success journal as my guide.  Here’s his general outline:

  1. Spiritual Life
  2. Family Life
  3. Work Life
  4. Financial Life
  5. Physical Life
  6. Emotional Life
  7. Intellectual Life

I will follow these list and try to focus what I really want to achieve by year 2009.

  • Spiritual Life
    • I would like to pray more deeply to God.
    • I want to join a church choir.  Yikes! Did I just share that to you guys?  I’m not a great singer but I love to sing songs (especially lively praise songs!) although I’m not too familiar with so many songs especially now that we barely listen to the radio and do not watch television anymore.
  • Family Life
    • I want to be an organized mom so I can serve my family good and healthy yummy home cooked meals (but of course, we would still go out to eat or else OAP would be doomed!), play with 2 growing boys, complete AD’s blog and AD&JX albums and fix all clutter around the house.
    • Provide a good homeschool curriculum for our son.
    • To be a submissive wife to my husband.  Hahaha This would really make him happy.  I remembered that this was part of our wedding vows!
  • Work Life
    • 100% support to HB.
  • Financial Life
    • Think and re-think when buying things especially if it is not vital to our living conditions.
  • Physical Life
    • What else but to loose these flabs hanging around for a year!
    • Be aggressive to start hobby like my HB!
  • Emotional Life
    • To be cool at all times.
    • Be happy with our lives.
    • Strengthen family ties.
    • Allot a time for myself as in totally alone in a quiet place and not alone in a mall or wherever that has so many distractions.
  • Intellectual Life
    • Read books to stimulate my brains (ooopppss, it’s not what you are thinking!).

Phew!  I think this is it for the meantime! So many goals with little time, but I really do hope I can achieve it before 2009 ends!

Thanks to Manuel and Avalon for doing this great exercise for all of us!  An early New Year’s resolution for those who joined!

So!  This is my official entry to Moleskine Philippines Giveaway.  I do hope to win the P1,200 moleskin notebook!

Moleskine Addict…

Friday, October 24th, 2008

….is my HB.  He has several Moleskine notebooks to date while I have just one…It was a red 12-month planner and it was a year 2007 planner.  Hey, I’m not complaining because those notebooks cost a fortune!  At least, for me.  I can use any notebook as long as it serves its purpose.  I’m not very particular with my notebook because I know in time, I will have to dispose of it or will have no use of it.  BUT with my 2007 RED Moleskine planner, I really made sure I write beautifully and details were as accurate.  Erasures are a NO-NO on my RED Moleskine notebook.  Sayang kasi!

So, if I get lucky in this contest Ms. Toni of Wifely Steps and www.avalon.ph has cooked up for their readers (count me in!), I would call it my Gratitude Notebook where I would write the day-to-day blessings I receive as an individual, daughter (and in-law), sister (and in-law), wife and mom to my 2 beautiful sons.  Since Moleskine is known to last longer than your usual notebook (because of its rigid, bound oilcloth ‘moleskine’ cover, with a durable thread bound binding and fine Italian acid-free paper pages), I’m sure I’d love to go back and reminisce my good ole days.

I’m excited to have my 1st real Moleskine notebook for keeps!  I hope I win so I can also be a Moleskine addict…just this once!
