Flying Pig

Simply amazing. How marketing strategy can really draw crowd! Honestly, if I’d known this is Raymond Magdaluyo’s chain of retaurants, I would’ve stayed away. No offense man, but most of the food we have was not our money’s worth. This time I was trapped! No choice but to swallow my pride.

Shrimp and Lobster Bisque (P225 +10%SC).
The soup was good. I liked the extra shrimp on top! AD loved the soup.

Grilled Tuna with Mediterranean Rice Salad (P395 +10%SC) Grilled Tuna, Rice in Thyme and Dijon Vinaigrette.
My MIL had nothing to eat at Flying Pig and it was very fortunate that we were able to cross order from Blu Fish. I immediately remembered MannHann and Mannang (MoA and Megamall. I’m not too sure if I had the correct spelling) where they also allow this kind of set-up since it’s owned by one company.
Fish looked dry but I don’t really know. HB liked it though. MIL liked the cold rice!

Sally Smoked the Chicken - Half Chicken (P325 +10%SC) with Creole Penne Ratatouille and Cajun Pomme Fries.
I thought this was a good buy! Half Chicken at P325+! Then when I saw actual chicken, I was disappointed. How can I expect it to be that big when I’m in this kind of a a restaurant? Hay….Silly me to expect.
We had options of side dish. We got the creole penne ratatouille (not my 1st choice…they ran out…aka 86…which reminds me…their 86 item board was there for everyone to see!)

Isn’t that supposed to be in their kitchen?)
I also opted for my chicken to be creole blackened…thinking of the restaurant in Pampanga which serves creole dishes….the name is at the back of my tongue…something kitchen…we haven’t blogged about it but we’ve eaten and loved it there! Cottage Kitchen! There! You should go there! I know it is along Friendship road. No use in asking me directions…passenger side only.

Baby Back Ribs Full (P625 +10%SC) with Honey Pomegranate basting and two side dishes: Spinach Whipped Potatoes and Salted Bacon Basmati Rice.
Again, we got “takaw mata”! I wished I didn’t agree to a full order of this almost malnourished back ribs. From the photo, you can see that it was thin and even burned…overcooked! I loved the spinach whipped potatoes! Creamy potatoes! The rice was good too although for me, it tasted more of a garlic rice.

All Meat Paella (P395 +10%SC). Pork belly, Angus beef, Chicken, Chorizo, Pork Loin on Saffron Rice.
I don’t know what it is with paella that HB kept on ordering. First, it was at Establishment and now, here. I’m not a fan of paella especially the so-much loved burned rice at the bottom ~ it’s as if I was munching junk foods. The paella is always dreamed of was MM’s — can’t forget about it…truly amazing that paella! My paella of the lifetime!

See how renaming your brands can do you good? I’ll be on the lookout from now on…
