Pamana in Tagaytay

Pamana Restaurant-21

One of the newest restos in Tagaytay is PAMANA, owned by Ms Happy Ongpauco who also owns The Boutique (and so many more!).   Let us scroll down our screen to see what we have been taking photos of…

Pamana Restaurant-10-2

Can we play sungka with these?  Cute no?  I love playing sungka in my younger years with our househelp or whomever I can play with or even by myself.  AD’s first encounter of sungka was when we went to Isla Naburot while JX’s first encounter was during a Havaianas event where Filipino games were re-introduced to the kids.  We had fun playing with this and I’m just counting the years when I’m going to buy one for our home.  (I’m not buying sungka yet bec the pebbles will be scattered around by AD which JX might play around and accidentally swallow it).

Pamana Restaurant-22

Tinuktok (P275). Minced coconut meat, shrimp and spices wrapped in taro leaves and cooked in coconut milk.

We loved tinuktok!  Looks like xxx (actually, not laing but still thinking what it is) but it’s not because it was packed with flavored herb, coco meat and shrimp.  We liked it hot!  AD kinda spit it out when he tasted it.  Oopppsss!  Oh well…He needs to get use to it because HB is very fond of those.

Pamana Restaurant-3-2

Pamana’s Three Way Adobo (P250). 3 kinds of Adobo from Happy’s three favorite lolas: Mama Chit, Lola Laling and Lola Fely. Chicken adobong puti, adobo flakes and native adobo spareribs — an all-in-one!

Adobo flakes rule!  BUT I still frowned upon it…because it’s fried!  Not good for one’s health…the adobong puti chicken and adobo spareribs were kinda hard.

Pamana Restaurant-5-2

Binagoongang Bagnet (P360). Tita Monchie Biazon’s (wife of Senator Biazon) lechon kawali sauteed in shrimp paste. Their family’s secret recipe taught only to Happy!

The shrimp paste was sweet so we happily mixed it with our rice.  I was surprised to see Bagnet not too fried especially the skin.  I had to check the menu once again to see if it was bagnet or humba that we got.  But it was bagnet so, why did it look like humba?  Maybe this is Ms Monchie Biazon’s style…can anyone confirm?  Is there a province where they serve bagnet like this?  Maybe I’m not too familiar with bagnets our there…

Pamana Restaurant-9-2

Chicken Binakol (P296). Chicken cooked in young coconut juice… Happy’s Friend, Tweet Feliciano Campo’s Ultimate Recipe

Yikes!  I love sweet food but this was way too sweet for a soup!  I also wished that they have removed the skin because I can see the oil swimming…

We over ordered so we end up eating more so we would not bring home the leftovers and it might spoil as we were not yet going home.  In fact, it was just our 1st stop!  Lunch!  Never go hungry!

Pamana Restaurant-19-2

Happy’s very own Homemade Dirty Ice Cream (P75?). With real chunks, with pandesal or apa.

We wanted a different flavor but this was the only available ice cream.  No apa either but with lotsa cheese!  We feasted on the cheese and asked for more servings of it to add “salt” flavor to our ice cream.

Pamana Restaurant-4

I would chose this table if I were to have lunch with my friends.  Fresh air and not too cramp.  We can be noisy too!

Pamana Restaurant-10

This is where we sat.  We had the view of the parking area. hahaha
