Malacca
Friday, January 23rd, 2009I know HB’s excited to try Malacca so we went there even if we (me and the 2 kids) were dead tired. It was not even past 7pm but we had an early day so I feel so weak already.
Bak Kut Teh (P180) - Fresh, tender, meaty pork ribs, whole garlic paired with traditional Chinese herbs simmered into a rich and nutritious soup.
Definitely on OUR list to order. I suddenly remembered our trip to Singapore and we made sure try the MUST eats there and one of them is this Bak Kut Teh. This soup was not new to me as I’ve tasted this already in my younger years at home. I never attempted to know what ingredients were in this soup to make one because when I was in Singapore, I saw a quicker way to have one in your home. I bought several packs of Bak Kut Teh with me. No brainer, just add water, add pork, beef or chicken then just put the sachet with the herbs inside and tada! Let it boil and hmmmm, your soup smells good la!
This soup was good! I just love to sip the hot soup and taste the garlic flavor! The pork was so tender. AD had an easy time eating it. JX loved the soup becuase of its flavor (He is starting to discover good tasting food!). It is good to sip the soup while it’s hot so you won’t see the oil settling. If you do, reheating would be better than taking it all in your tummy.
