Angel’s Kitchen

Angel’s Kitchen made it worth our trip to Greenhills.  One reason was that Tangerine Restaurant was close for lunch.  Two, we didn’t have to wait long to be seated and third, we were quite satisfied with what we had.

Angel's Kitchen-1

To let my mind wander and get busy, we munched on the complimentary bread and chicken liver spread.  Even the kids loved it!  JX munched on the bread until he was full of it while AD kept on getting one bread then another that we had to ask for more several times.  Diba sila lugi? hahaha Of course not!

We were curios if this Soft-shell Crab with Mango Poppy Seed Dressing (P278) was similar to waht we had at Thai Patio.  Actually, it was more of the soft shell crab that made us order this salad.  Hmmm….No complaints on the salad.  They were fresh and crunchy.  I was disappointed with the soft shell crab!  You know if we have tasted it first here, I wouldn’t have ordered it at Thai Patio.  Wanna know why?  At first bite, you’ll know what you’ve biten into!  It was the gills!  Maybe I just got unlucky but 2 out of 3 soft shell crabs taste just the same!  Sober!  Maybe they bought a bad batch of soft shell crab?  nyirks!  I’ll be hesitant to order such delicacy in just any restaurant from now on.

Lamb Curry with Apple Raisin Chutney (P458) A Signature Dish.

A winner for us.  Big chunks of easy to cut and chew lamb.  The sauce can be a meal itself.   The apple raisin chutney was only an accessory to the curry but if you want to change the taste a little bit, try the chutney.  Too bad, we forgot to take our  doggie bag!  I was looking forward in having one more rice with it.

Original Pinakbet Rice with Lechon Kawali and Chocolate Bagoong. (P388) A Signature Dish.

I wanted to have a vegetable dish to eat and we decided to have this variation.  I thought it to be cute, mixing the pinakbet rice with the lechon kawali and on top of that, it had a chocolate bagoong!  Boy, was I excited!  (but not too excited because I tasted the lamb curry 1st!).  I first tasted the pinakbet rice.  It tasted bland.  I think it was because I’ve tasted and eaten a more savory dish prior to tasting the rice that my palate changed.  The lechon kawali was a lechon kawali while the bagoong was a sweet bagoong that I liked.  We were trying to get the taste of the chocolate but we weren’t able to differentiate it.  I guess the taste drowned into the shrimp paste already.

I would think I’d go back here.  Actually, I’ve already told my co-moms that we should have lunch here while waiting for the kids’ dismissal!  (Because I know it would be a long wait for us if I’ll be with my HB.)

Looking forward in visitng this soon!
