Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Plueys
PLUEYS are boots made for rain and “pluie” (ploo·wi) means JUST THAT in French. But it doesn’t mean they can’t be for snow–people in colder countries like the US and the UK have been wearing Plueys even before it has been brought to Manila. -www.plueysmanila.com

Go to Havaianas Playback TODAY!

Havaianas Playback TODAY!

JX and I just got from Havaianas Playback event at Boni Hi Street.  I think I had more fun than JX!  AD was with his Poppa doing their Ultimate Pampanga Tour so it was only JX and I.

Here’s what I did (Low-tech me, I again didn’t capture any photos.  I have an excuse, I was carrying JX.):

1. Registered and got the Havaianas Passport for me to be able to play.

2. To earn points, you have to play games and there are corresponding points.

3. After playing, go to their redemption center.  Playing doesn’t stop there!  They will be giving you a pingpong ball (# of balls depends on how many points you earned from playing) and eventually will land into a pocket hole.  The hole it lands to has a corresponding letter and has a corresponding prize.  Easy huh!

4. Don’t forget your kite!  Because you joined, you get a kite!  I got one!

TIP:  Playing under the sun means you need to be in your comfortable attire.  And also, I do hope you are none other Havaianas sandals (yes, not the other sandals…)  Also, bring towel for you will sweat a lot! :)  But truly fun!  When was the last time you really played those games?

I was in grade school when I last played Chinese garter (Wait a minute!  Is this a Pinoy game?)!  I aced it when I played a while ago.  I was also carrying JX at that time! hahaha Kidding!  I tried piko (just learned how today!) which was fun too but super tiring with all the jumping around!  I didn’t like sipa but played it anyway.  I only get to hit it once and the sipa drops unto the floor.  Bummer!  I didn’t get the chance to play patintero and tumbang preso because we had to go home.  Sleeping time for JX.  By the way, JX had fun with the sungka!  He was trying to eat the shells!

So, what are you waiting for?  Get dressed and head for Boni Hi because I’m sure there are a lot of goodies waiting for you there!

Lastly, they are offering 20% off on selected Havaianas slippers at the store ONLY FOR TODAY! Is it time to buy another pair?  Well, this is the right time!  Because you get to save 20% of the original price of Havaianas pair!

Moleskine Addict…

Friday, October 24th, 2008

….is my HB.  He has several Moleskine notebooks to date while I have just one…It was a red 12-month planner and it was a year 2007 planner.  Hey, I’m not complaining because those notebooks cost a fortune!  At least, for me.  I can use any notebook as long as it serves its purpose.  I’m not very particular with my notebook because I know in time, I will have to dispose of it or will have no use of it.  BUT with my 2007 RED Moleskine planner, I really made sure I write beautifully and details were as accurate.  Erasures are a NO-NO on my RED Moleskine notebook.  Sayang kasi!

So, if I get lucky in this contest Ms. Toni of Wifely Steps and www.avalon.ph has cooked up for their readers (count me in!), I would call it my Gratitude Notebook where I would write the day-to-day blessings I receive as an individual, daughter (and in-law), sister (and in-law), wife and mom to my 2 beautiful sons.  Since Moleskine is known to last longer than your usual notebook (because of its rigid, bound oilcloth ‘moleskine’ cover, with a durable thread bound binding and fine Italian acid-free paper pages), I’m sure I’d love to go back and reminisce my good ole days.

I’m excited to have my 1st real Moleskine notebook for keeps!  I hope I win so I can also be a Moleskine addict…just this once!

Scary BreastFeeding Room

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Piazza, Serendra

I’m sorry, I have no photos to share with you.  I remembered this incident when Mi’an left a comment on my post about her experience at Breastfeeding room in Rustan’s Shangrila Mall.

Let me start….

I was going to have my pedicure in one of the salons at Market!Market! but I had to wait at least 30-45 minutes so I decided to express the milk out of my breast (I have to say it…pardon me.) to save time!  I do remember that Market!Market! has a breastfeeding room which I haven’t been to and so I asked the guard roving around the mall where it was.  They gave me directions that it was at the far end at the right.  And so, I walked and looked for a sign that would direct me but I don’t see one.  The guard forgot to tell me to turn right and walk farther more before you chance upon the room.

And so, I walked.  And there it was…the room.  The location was not easy to find nor an ideal place to locate it.  It was not alongside with the stores (not income generating, that’s why!).  It was hidden and no sign at all except for the sign by the Market!Market! entrance and somewhere else (basta not near the location!).  I was hesitant to go inside because there were men outside (as if they were drinking or was it siesta time?), at least 4-6 men (some were even wearing camouflage pants which added to my hesitation) surrounding the place and by the door to the breastfeeding room.  So, I was kinda peeping into the room whether it was still open to the public.  I think they are staff of the Market! Market! office but why are they outside the office at office hours?  They were kinda harassing me and was asking what is my business going to the room (They think I just want to sleep?) and those silly questions as if they know a lot about nursing!  I told them irritably, I would pump (period).  And they were still asking where is the kid and all (Hello?!).  At that time, I felt violated because they kept on asking me like they were ridiculing me and they were men!  Finally after a few minutes sensing that I was very irritated with them, they get it.  There was no kid and I will just be by myself (whee! hahaha).  Suddenly, one guy was calling someone inside the room!  Someone was actually sleeping there!  One of the staff, I guess. Eiwww!  What is he doing there?  I had no choice but to go there and do what I have to do…express my milk out of me…

I should’ve turn around and find another place to express my milk.  I should’ve gone to the pay lounge.  I think it would be more comfortable for me.  AND I should’ve complained to the Market!Market! office about the behavior of those people (maybe their people! most prob..)!  I was kinda scared because the place was at the corner of the mall and you have to go far along before you would be able to reach it so you would really have to SHOUT as in SHOUT!!!  It was like going to the restroom except that not much people are traversing the lobby.

From then on, I would not go there anymore…scary…Good thing, nothing happened to moi.

Flavors of Chocolates

Heavenly Chocolates-10

Ghana flavored Hot Chocolate (P80).   Kids loves this and so those who are kids at heart…that’s me!  We also got the Ecuador flavor hot chocolate and it was super!  If I can describe the hot chocolates, Ghana is cool while Ecuador flavored is the serious one.  There were also several flavors which is worth mentioning and would definitely try the next time we visit the QC area…Ivory Coast (nutty in taste), Madagascar (taste like raisins) and Peru (floral taste).  Interesting indeed!

Heavenly Chocolates-4

Sachi Nama Chocolates at P350/box.  We were given a free taste of this nama chocolate and tasted similar with Royce.  I cannot say what taste better because it has been so long since I’ve tasted Royce.  Have you tasted them? Oh and by the way, we heard that Royce would be bringing their chocolates here in the Philippines!  Sachi Nama Chocolates have several flavors:  Champagne, Dark Chocolate, Green Tea and Strawberry. Are there any flavor that I missed?

Cakes should be pre-ordered 2-3 days prior so we weren’t able to taste any.  There were several desserts displayed but it was not appealing to us.  Good thing, their hot chocolates were enough for us to forget what we intended to eat.

Heavenly Chocolates-18

We took home a pack of the Ghana (or Ecuador) at P175/pack.  They have those sugar-free tablets (P220/pack) but we were not quite sure what flavor it was so we opted the one we have tasted.

Belissimo Mama!

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Aidan excitedly went ahead to serve us with the pizza.

Bellisimo-5

Gorgonzola Pizza (P330). Tomato, Mozzarela, Blue Cheese, Oregano, Olive Oil.

I was happy to have ordered this pizza because of the blue cheese.  Usually, I would get the Formaggi Pizza but ever since Fruili, it reminded me of how much I was fond of blue cheese.  I just got 2 slices and I’m done.  The pizza crust was chewy while they were able to achieve a crunchy crust.

Bellisimo-11

Cannelloni agli Spinaci (P298). Baked Cannelloni stuffed with spinach and cheese topped with bechamel and parmesan cheese.

I shouldn’t have ordered this because this was just re-heated.  I just thought I wanted a pasta that we don’t usually order and a pasta without any meat.   Oh brother!  We’ll just return for their other dishes…

Next pit stop: Heavenly Chocolates before going home…
