BeauxArts Design & Concepts by SieMatic in Manila
We lived with our grandparents until I had married by ex-boyfriend. In a usual house set-up, the interiors would be in line with the owner’s personal style. In our case, it was my grandparents’ style. This did not stop my mom to dream of having her own style of house, after all, we are free to dream and such dreams may come true. I, too, looked forward in having my own dream house even until this moment. One particular location in the house that I would have wanted to be my next haven aside from my bedroom is the KITCHEN. So, if I were to dream BIG, I would have chosen my kitchen to look like this (below) so I’d be more convinced to practice my cooking and baking skills I learned.

Interesting cooking area with concealed storage space behind the easy-opening sliding marble door that can surprisingly open with such ease even if it is visually massive and heavy. Ideal for moms in creating an alternate hiding location (aside from your bedroom) of treats for kids (only until they are in such age where they are hesitant to go near this area) and even husbands too!

Next is my center working table. I loved the idea of this modern design of center island that has an eating bar and Japanese Tepan-yaki griddles. Not to mention the way they created away to separate the so-called working area for cooking and for eat or work. I could imagine myself wearing an apron, loving my time inside the kitchen while preparing food for my family and never wanting to leave the kitchen area because it would also be a place where family and friends chat without even realizing that it has been hours since they’ve finished eating their lunch or dinner.

I would love my kitchen to have an Asian look — Chinese Wedding Cabinet, situated at the far left of the photo. They say, “Does kitchen furniture have to look like kitchen furniture?” I agree, it doesn’t have to be thus, the Chinese Wedding Cabinet is just appropriate in my kitchen. Who would’ve thought that behind that decorative exterior conceals a convenient state-of-the-art Sub-Zero refrigerator-freezer combination? Indeed, a combination of new and old: modern design with antiques; or modern furnishing elements with your existing favorites.

Similar to our home back when I was in my single blessedness stage, we had our wash area with a view but not your ideal one because it was facing our neighbor. So, for my dream kitchen, I would want a view that would let me forget that I am doing the dishwashing chore at that very moment. During daytime, I would love to face our lawn and watch my kids play with their Poppa. While in the evening, it would be lovely to see the moon shining with its dark background. But on second thoughts, I would just put a curtain to close out my imagination of what I might see there especially when I’m alone with the kids.

Having handmade wall tiles would be definitely provide shining accents that I would like in my kitchen. There should be no boring area inside the kitchen for me.

Here are some photos I took during the event and some information I gathered while looking around. The photos are not as good as my HB’s but this would do for the meantime.

I was surprised to really see that refrigerator behind that Chinese cabinet. I didn’t expect but I was glad Siematic BeauxArts really took the plunge into playing with unexpected combination of designs.
Oh, did I tell you that I love their drawers? This is the first time I’ve encountered the damper system for drawers. Just perfect for our household! It is the (bad) habit to never close the drawers properly in our household so when I knew about this (or am I the only one so ignorant?!), I got quite excited. There was such a thing! Damper system would close the drawers automatically when it is nearing the closure , approxiamtely one-(1) inch. Cool, isn’t it? Ideal set of furniture especially since half open drawers can be hazardous with kids running around. If only I had budget…I’m sure I’ll have one…as soon as I hit the road to purchase a Lotto ticket today. For the meantime, I’ll dream of my SieMatic Kitchen design. What about your dream kitchen? Great way of creating spacious interiors. A Kitchen without a furniture is a dull and dead house. Superb!

A few points before buying a CAD system to design your kitchen:
Anybody designing kitchens and bathrooms these days in 2D is rather behind the times. Years ago when that was all that was available it was fine, but these days clients want 3D realisations and there are plenty of packages to achieve this. There are bespoke kitchen design packages available, but the first problem for you here will be to work out exactly the differences between them. Prices range from a few hundred to several thousands and viewing on line it is extremely difficult to see what you need as they nearly all, despite their differences claim so much. It is also often difficult to find the price, personally this really annoys me.
I’d suggest that your criteria for choosing by be the following.
Ease of Use.
The high end expensive packages will inevitably have lots of features that you will never use or need. If you don’t need them, then they can only slow you down and get in your way.
Training
Check out training courses, not only how much they cost, but also how long they take, anything past two or three days and it’s too complicated for your needs. Ask about free training to get you started, you don’t want to pay for someone to show you how to draw a square.
Support
AutoCAD will charge you something like £600 a year, just what are you getting for this? Not much is the answer, but that’s why they are so rich, loads of people pay up without considering whether they need to. Another point here is that most companies will promise support, but what they mean is technical support. So if your computer crashes, then they’ll help, (when they have time, between you and all the others waiting), but if you have a simple practical question, say regarding opening an incoming file, they’ll regard that as a training issue and your on your own boy.
Compatibility
Lastly and very importantly is compatibility. You must be able to open drawings sent to you created in different packages and you must have the ability of saving in lots of file formats including PDF and the latest and past DWG and DXF formats. If you can’t do this then you are seriously restricting your capabilities. If you buy any package that can only open a small range of file formats, then you’re throwing your money away.
