Pasalubong from Quezon Fiesta

AD had just weaned a few months back. I miss him but I was also glad that he can now have a Father and Son only bonding time. This took place during their trip to Quezon Fiesta just this May 15. We had planned to go there as a family with friends but last minute, one by one, they had to backed out due to conflict of schedule. And so, it was only us - HB, AD, JX and yours truly. We were all set but on May 14, JX caught fever and I decided not to push thru with our fiesta outing. I had no choice because the weather was also not that good. We had to stay put. However, HB can’t back out because we’ve reserved a room good for 12 people several months ago! Sadly, I carefully prepared and packed AD’s things. I had to make sure that he had the things I usually pack for him — sunblock, cap, insect repellant, clothes, water and chia chia (food!).  But I was also happy because HB and AD would have a time together without me (but Lolo was there,  a three-(3) generation bonding time).

It was an overnight event so I was looking forward the next day.  Not knowing that I’d be surprised with what they’ve brought me…Here they are:

Arabella-22

It didn’t matter that it was a leftover pizza because it was as if I was there eating the pizza, hot from the oven and crispy (with a sound) crust.  I quickly put this in the freezer.
Arabella-20

Bread pudding!  Yipes!  I likety!  It may not be too appealing but I tell you, do not judge the bread pudding by its cover.  I was definitely touched.  If only, you were there when both HB and AD were handing me their pasalubong, you’d melt with joy.  They even have a story to tell for each pasalubong they brought me.

Pantoja Bakery-2

Paborita is what they call it.  HB’s friend, Jojie, whom I recently met, was raving about this treat and so I was quite intrigued by it.  When I saw it, I knew it looked familiar because I’ve just tasted it a few days ago.  This pastry is so thin (when you segregate it) that you wonder how they patiently made it.  It is not too sweet but quite addicting when you take a piece of the biscuit.  Jojie suggested that this is best paired with the Halo Halo at 1933 which I sadly didn’t get to try.  Actually, if we’ve known about this earlier, I could’ve gotten my hands on this cold treat when we went for our Pagsanjan Falls adventure.

Their pasalubong didn’t stop there because they got me 2 sandals from Liliw.  They had a story to tell on why they bought those for me.  No photos this time, feet not good for photo. hahaha

To end my post on this,  HB, AD and I (and JX) may not been physically together but they remembered me in every fiesta they hopped on.

FYI:  From what I knew, they were only supposed to be in Lucban for the Pahiyas but again, they’ve surprised me by being in almost all of the Quezon fiestas.  Such an adventureous duo!
