Hello Kitty Party Package-2

It doesn’t have to be only party time where you can use these stickers.  You can use it for an event, class or when you are in the mood to meet other people (it would look funny though) while in a mall or park.

Cost P29.75 ($0.71) for 6pcs.

Hello Kitty Party Package-4

I found these HK hats (pardon the pale color) at Landmark, TriNoMa worth P49.75 ($1.18) for 6 sets.  Would you like to try if this would look good on you?

I am not a hat person.  It makes my hair a mess because of the shape it makes of my hair. I like to leave my hair alone.  I miss my long hair.

While waiting for AD to stop playing at Landmark, TriNoMa, I decided to stroll around the toy area. And these was what I found…Hello Kitty Party Packs! It comes with a HK party bag, HK party hat, HK party ID card, HK ruler, HK sticker and other more party paraphernalia. This pack is good for 5 children with 2 different designs to choose from. Cost is P99.75 (less than $2.50). Affordable huh!

Hello Kitty Party Package-5

Hello Kitty Party Package

I liked this design.  Colorful and I get to choose my own color for the ruler.  Pink please.  AD would love to have the blue ruler, please do reserve it for him.

Don’t you just love to have your daughter celebrate her birthday with Hello Kitty as the theme character?

Pasalubong from Quezon Fiesta

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

AD had just weaned a few months back. I miss him but I was also glad that he can now have a Father and Son only bonding time. This took place during their trip to Quezon Fiesta just this May 15. We had planned to go there as a family with friends but last minute, one by one, they had to backed out due to conflict of schedule. And so, it was only us - HB, AD, JX and yours truly. We were all set but on May 14, JX caught fever and I decided not to push thru with our fiesta outing. I had no choice because the weather was also not that good. We had to stay put. However, HB can’t back out because we’ve reserved a room good for 12 people several months ago! Sadly, I carefully prepared and packed AD’s things. I had to make sure that he had the things I usually pack for him — sunblock, cap, insect repellant, clothes, water and chia chia (food!).  But I was also happy because HB and AD would have a time together without me (but Lolo was there,  a three-(3) generation bonding time).

It was an overnight event so I was looking forward the next day.  Not knowing that I’d be surprised with what they’ve brought me…Here they are:

Arabella-22

It didn’t matter that it was a leftover pizza because it was as if I was there eating the pizza, hot from the oven and crispy (with a sound) crust.  I quickly put this in the freezer.
Arabella-20

Bread pudding!  Yipes!  I likety!  It may not be too appealing but I tell you, do not judge the bread pudding by its cover.  I was definitely touched.  If only, you were there when both HB and AD were handing me their pasalubong, you’d melt with joy.  They even have a story to tell for each pasalubong they brought me.

Pantoja Bakery-2

Paborita is what they call it.  HB’s friend, Jojie, whom I recently met, was raving about this treat and so I was quite intrigued by it.  When I saw it, I knew it looked familiar because I’ve just tasted it a few days ago.  This pastry is so thin (when you segregate it) that you wonder how they patiently made it.  It is not too sweet but quite addicting when you take a piece of the biscuit.  Jojie suggested that this is best paired with the Halo Halo at 1933 which I sadly didn’t get to try.  Actually, if we’ve known about this earlier, I could’ve gotten my hands on this cold treat when we went for our Pagsanjan Falls adventure.

Their pasalubong didn’t stop there because they got me 2 sandals from Liliw.  They had a story to tell on why they bought those for me.  No photos this time, feet not good for photo. hahaha

To end my post on this,  HB, AD and I (and JX) may not been physically together but they remembered me in every fiesta they hopped on.

FYI:  From what I knew, they were only supposed to be in Lucban for the Pahiyas but again, they’ve surprised me by being in almost all of the Quezon fiestas.  Such an adventureous duo!

An Engagement For Wine & Food Lovers

EuroWine @ Mandarin Hotel, Makati

Fine wines from Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, and Germany are offered for tasting all night at P3,000 nett. The P3,000 nett price comes with food courses prepared by Mandarin Oriental’s master chefs. Featured dishes include Spain’s Paella, Portugal’s Bacalao and egg tarts, Germany’s Thuringer sausages and roast pork knuckle saukerkraut, France’s Coque au vin and oysters, Austria’s Wiener Schnitzel and linzer torte, Switzerland’s Cervelat and Cheese Salad, and Italy’s antipasti and tiramisu and many more.

The EuroWine event aims to bring the spotlight on the Old World wines of Europe. While their popularity has diminished with the heightened interest on the more affordable, bolder-flavoured wines from the Americas, Australia and South Africa, the European wines’ unparalleled quality that many people may have forgotten in recent years, have remained a steadfast classic.”, as Helmut Gaisberger, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental informs the people.

What also made this an interesting event is that visitors can bid for various grand vacation prizes in an auction. I wish I was a wine lover as I am a food lover AND willing to part 3,000 bucks because one can bid for One-(1) Roundtrip Business Class ticket to Munich via Lufthansa with 2 nights’ stay at Mandarin Hotel, Munich with a value of US$3,500 (estimated), One-(1) Roundtrip Business Class ticket to Genva via Swiss Int’l Airlines with 2 nights’ stay at Mandarin Hotel, Geneva with a value of US$3,500 (estimated), Full package 2N stay at El Nido Resort inclusive of airfare, transfers, meal and activities with a value of P42,000 among others. Good luck to the bidders! I hope you won’t get too drunk that you’ll overbid the price value of the bid. :)
This event is a one-night only wine and food festival. So if you are a wine and food lover, do participate in this festival on Tuesday, 5 June 2008. I’m sure you’ll have fun pairing your wine with the food. Doors would be open to interested participants at 8pm. Venue would be at the Ballroom of Mandarin Oriental, Makati City.

Proceeds go to The GeoChris Foundation, Inc.

For tickets and inquiries, do call 750-8888 ext 2401 or The Lobby Shop at Mandarin Oriental.
