Loving the Food at Balai Indang

This was my first time to set foot in this homey place called Balai Indang. It was my HubbyBubbly and AD’s second time, the first trip was during the time my HubbyBubbly was looking for a reception location for his brother’s wedding. I was pregnant that time and didn’t want to go there anymore at night.

Anyway, I’ve already visited Balai Indang and here’s what I will share with you…the food served during our overnight stay. Dishes that made me go on second, third and nth servings.

LUNCH

This was where it all started…we went to their farm (separate from Balai Indang)…and saw these beds of lettuce…they are hydrophonic plants wherein the lettuce are grown in an aerial liquid to supply nutrients needed for the lettuce’s growth. Yes, we had those lettuce on our salad. Healthy! Do you see those peaches?

I thought I’m over cream based dishes only to discover that I’m still gaga over it. This fish fillet topped with creamy sauce made me drool. The fish was tender and was easily chewed by AD. Very tasty. The bottom portion was mashed potatoes. It was also good. This can already be a meal by itself but no, I just had to eat the other dishes on the table. That was how hungry I was!

Protein Packed Meal. Roast Chicken with Ground Pork, Carrots and Raisins. Love eating the freshly taken out of the oven chicken. Dark meat for me please. Never a dull moment, it just got better. Juicy!

DINNER

Dinner at Balai Indang-5

For dinner, we had the fresh mushroom soup and it was superb! I always have a soft spot for mushroom soup! When we were in our teen years, we usually have a mushroom soup to go with our meal. I love Campbell’s cream of mushroom! And I was glad to have a second serving of this creamy, tasty mushroom soup.

There’s crabmeat inside the Crab Fuyong! Yehey! I thought it would just have a faint, faint taste of the crab but I was wrong. The crabmeat was not too much but at least, I knew it was a crab fuyong. I’d love to make this at home and would definitely add more crabmeat in it. Did I tell you that I also love seafoods? Who doesn’t (except for those who have allergy to it) seafoods?! It is the most coveted dish in every buffet event.

Dinner at Balai Indang-10

For dinner, we had spareribs! No bones left. Need I say more?

Hamburger patties with herbs. Great with the wasabi sauce. I’m sooo full!

Homemade Suman. Eat it while it is warm. No need to add sugar because it is already sweet by itself. There’s even a treat for you when you bite on it…it’s chocolate! Double yummy! AD definitely loved this and bye bye with our plan to sleep early. AD slept at 10pm. It was late already considering that he woke up earlier than his usual wake up time and no afternoon nap.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast at Balai Indang-15

This was what we had for breakfast aside from the usual, danggit and chicken/ pork adobo. Actually, I was expecting a longganiza breakfast. Oh well, better luck next time.

That was the pesto roll as Ate Marge would call it. I lurv it to the max! Wish I’d gotten the exact recipe of it (will do and share it with you but will have to ask permission first!). The roll was with pesto sauce and cheese. To add texture unto the roll, there were cracker bits on top. At first glance, I wasn’t sure if I’d love this but as I munched on it, I just can’t stop my hands from getting one roll after another until we had to ask for more pesto roll.

Phew! And that was it, 5lbs heavier on the hips! Hungrier than ever? Sorry about that. It was meant to be that way. I, too, got hungry again and craving for that pesto roll!

FYI: The food prepared for the guests are food that Ate Marge loves to serve her family and friends. She loves to eat out and tries to copy the food she loves. So, definitely the dishes are simply tried and tested.

They do entertain day trip to those who are interested.  Minimum 3 personsP500 for lunchP600 for dinner. P50 for merienda.

Stay tuned for more Balai Indang post!

Oh, by the way, here’s my HubbyBubbly’s previous post on Balai Indang…The food indeed improved from the looks of it…

WAAH! I wish I had known about this place before we went to Tagaytay!! The food looks so yummy! The fish fillet topped with creamy sauce reminds me of my *favorite* dish from Aresi (now closed), called Fish Trio. And like you, I also have a darling affair with mushroom soup haha! Aresi also had this fresh mushroom soup, I can imagine how yummy Balai Indang’s mushroom soup must be.
