Away for a Quiet Weekend

Going out-of-town equates packing ALMOST everything at home.  It just tires me that I would want to stay home!  It takes 2 days to pack.  Now, they’re two of them, there are more things to pack!  But as you can see, it never stopped my HubbyBubbly from going out-of-town and tows us with him.  Well, that’s how powerful my HubbyBubbly’s convincing ability is.  Along the way, I know I’m going to regret it (as always and never learn!) and be tired after this weekend.

And off we go…to one of our favorite destination, Tagaytay.  We had so many list of places to go to that day (yes, never ending list that just keeps on adding and adding week after week)  but we just ended up having lunch at Tootsie’s (no post yet!) because we started the day late.  After lunch, I can’t wait to rest!  And so, we were on our way to our lodging place — Hotel Kimberly.  We had to asked directions because we didn’t bother to really look at the map before we set off.  After a few turns and calls, alas, we finally arrived at Hotel Kimberly.  Hotel Kimberley, Tagaytay-3-2

It was a big hotel, meaning many rooms that needed to be occupied unlike The Boutique, T-House among others!   We didn’t know there existed such hotel in Tagaytay…you know why? Because this hotel was not strategically located along the main highway…but hidden from hustle and bustle in busy road of Tagaytay.   I guess not everybody loves to be the center of attraction.  But I liked it…I felt like I was outside the Phils.

It was the cool windy air that enticed us to quickly go inside the hotel.  The staff were friendly while the place smelled clean.  Cupid was even there to struck our hearts to be in love all over again or maybe struck us to make us fall in love with the place.  I’d be freezing cold if I wear anything like that!

As I entered the main lobby, I was already excited to see our room..Filipino’s version of Zen inspired design.

At last, I can now take my much needed sleep!  But only after two hours that sleep was granted..because our AD can’t stop tinkering with everything inside the room.  Nice spacious room, don’t you think?  Did you know that they even have a crib for babies? I opted to have JX sleep beside me since I had the bed all to myself while AD and his Poppa shared one bed.  Loved the bed and the pillows!  We didn’t have trouble falling asleep.  It was also the first time that AD didn’t tell me that he wanted to go home which he usually does whenever we go overnight in other places.  I wonder why…me thinks he feels something wherever we go…nowadays, he likes to go to a well-lighted place.

I can’t let AD swim the day we arrived because obviously, the weather won’t permit it neither would I!  Actually, we were supposed to go to the beach earlier that’s why AD was wearing that suit.  Talk about tight schedule.  It was too windy outside so I’ll just show you their pool area.  Also, just to let you know how strong the wind was, the chairs by the hotel doors has been blown away several times and I saw it with my two chinky eyes.   Summertime would be the best time to take a dip into this pool.

So, to entertain AD the next morning, his Poppa let him play in the playground.  Yes, they do have!  But remember, you have to let your kids wear layered shirts or jacket because the playground is located outside.   This kind of weather will go on until March so please be reminded to bring extra warm clothes for the kids and for you!

Overall Rating:  If you are looking for a nice and quiet place to stay AND away from the crowd, this is an alternative venue to bond with your kids and partners-in-crime.  I am happy to say that I was able to rest during our stay here so no regrets this time!  No schedule to ran after nor (more!) places to go.  I think HubbyBubbly made me rest so I’ll have enough strength the next day! (haha)

Minor issue: Best to bring your water jug.  There was no complimentary bottled water nor fruits but we can do away with the fruits not the water.  Bottled water in the room costs P37.  Good thing, I always bring a jug for us!

Thank you for the warmth welcome to the Hotel Kimberly staff!
