My Kind of Pizza - Camalig’s
Upon seeing the pizza we ordered, I knew this is the ONE! I just love the crust they make! It is not your typical Pizza Hut nor Shakey’s crust. It does not look oily nor too heavy on your stomach once you’ve eaten 2 or even 3 slices (what an appetite!), it was just crunchy especially the dulo (end)! I just kept on getting one slice after another because it seemed that the pizza do not last longer than 3 minutes on my plate! Well, let me tell you why…
Their crust is like the 3M pizza which I and IM love. This is what I have been looking for especially when I’m in the mood to eat pizza, now I know what to request from HubbyBubbly when he is in Angeles. Aside from the crispy-crust, I loved what IH ordered…it was Doy’s Kapampangan pizza. Toppings were ebun buru (duck salted egg), longganiza (local meat sausage), onions and pickle relish. Boy, was it delish! If you like your longganiza sweet in taste, then you’ll like this pizza. The salted eggs added texture to the pizza and neutralizing the sweetness of the tomato sauce and pickle relish that was also used. I think I can eat a medium sized (10-inch) pizza of this flavor on my own.

Doy’s Kapampangan (P102/ P194, P249).
Pizzas come in three sizes: 7-inch (good for 1 person), 10-inch (good for 2-3 persons) and 13-inch (good for 4-5).
Actually, we only ordered one pizza but it was gone in minutes (Told you!) that we had to order for another. This time, we got the All The Way pizza.

Pepperoni, ground beef, green pepper and mushroom (P107/ P209, P279).
This pizza is totally different from Doy’s because of the spiciness the pepperoni and ground beef and the tanginess of the green pepper. In short, this is not a sweet tasting pizza but I still like it. Not as much as Doy’s but this was a good choice too.
Oh and have you noticed that the toppings almost covered the entire crust? Sulit (worth it!)! I’m just so happy that I can still have the pizza and pizza crust I like.
No, we didn’t order anything except those pizza! Maybe on our next visit because they also serve soup & salad, pasta, pizza breadsticks, grilled & sizzling meals, pulutan and breakfast. You can also dine al fresco style and listen to their live piano and band music.
At last, I have tried the Historic Camalig Restaurant, Home of Armando’s Pizza & Pasta since 1982, which the Philippine Daily Inquirer wrote about last September 2007 which kinda intrigued me.
Internet Alert: FREE Wifi to customers! (Just great! This bonus made our dining experience longer than expected. )
