Really Good Drama

Sorry guys! haven’t been posting lately. And this post will be off topic, but yeah just wanted to share with you.

So the reason I haven’t been posting for more than a week is because I’ve been stuck on a really really good drama. You guys probably heard of it cause its pretty popular. Boys over Flowers has me head over heals! There’s some SUPAH HOTT guys on that show. Fell in love with it at first glance.

For those that haven’t heard or seen: Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry-cleaning shop that is located near the luxurious and well-known Shin Hwa College. Jan Di meets the four most richest and spoiled boys when she delivers laundry to the school one day. The boys are known as the F4 and cause trouble to those who speak out against them.

Can’t tell you what happens cause i don’t wanna spoil it for you. I haven’t quite finished it but i have about 8 if not less episodes left. It’s a 25 episode series BTW if you guys wanna know. Well can’t say anything bad about it. The fashion in the movie is not a biggie (Though the school outfits are cute. I don’t think they allow it in a regular school). It’s more of the guy’s fashion that stands out.

You guys can grab some really cool banners and such on this Myspace fansite and hear 2nd season OST. You guys will totally see one on my Myspace =.{D

Anyways post your thoughts and love!!! Please no super negative inappropriate crap k?

Ganguro

Referred to as ‘Loco Gyaru’ until ‘98, ganguro (ガングロ) wore hibiscus print dresses, platform sandals and other beach/hawaii-inspired clothing.

Ganguro fashion is and was primarily adopted by young woman in their 20s. The style consists of a deep tan combined with dyed hair that can be either bleached gray, silver or various shades of orange. Ganguro girls also wear white lipstick and eye shadow. White concealer is often used for both. Black ink is often used as an eyeliner along with false eyelashes and facial gems (plastic) and pearl powder.

Clothing wise Ganguro girls wear brightly coloured clothes including miniskirts, tie-dyed sarongs, lots or rings, necklaces and bracelets.

I love this outfit coordination Its not just another wannabe look. Its Ganguro on! I also LOVE her outfit color; bold, fruity colors. If I am ever in Japan I would totally go Ganguro. I mean look at their fake tans: totally flaunting them. The accessories are dead on and her make-up is fabulous! Next time I hit Vegas I’ll wear this look around and see what happens =.{D

Probably the most famous Ganguro girl was known as Buriteri - named after a black soy sauce. Eggmagazine made her famous after constantly showing her picture at the height of the Ganguro craze.

Other similar styles includes Yamanba, Kogyaru, and Kogal, which will be discussed in futher posts.

Ganji - Korean Street Fashion

Let’s talk about Korean street fashion, “Ganji“, an urban style type of fashion in Korea, mostly known as ’street-wear’ in America. Its so awesome >.< absolutely adorable. For example, Big Bang.

“Ganji it’s a korean word to say someone is stylish, but nowadays is commonly associated to the hiphop/80’s look Lots of beautiful colors, cool sneakers and glasses and some bling.” [link]

This style is more tomboyish and has become popular style in Korea.

Basically, big shirts, cute funky hair, and dead-cute accessories (popular includes big-framed lensless glasses).

Rainie Yang

Rainie Yang’s shoes sure are ardorable.

Though Rainie wasn’t a ulzzang she sure has the looks to be one. Those eyes of hers are so humongous and gorgeous. Not only that she’s pure kawaii!

Yang began her career as a member of the all-girl singing group 4 in Love, where she was given the stage name of Rainie. The group’s popularity in the music industry was mediocre and they achieved limited success. After the group disbanded, Yang continued to pursue a career in the entertainment industry as a TV host, hosting shows. After playing supporting roles in several dramas, she landed the lead role in the CTV drama Devil Beside You opposite Mike He. Devil Beside You proved to be very popular, allowing Rainie’s career to take off. The same year, she released her debut album, My Intuition, featuring her hit songs “Ai Mei” and “Li Xiang Qing Ren”, which were both from Devil Beside You. My Intuition made Chinese entertainment history as the only debut album to reach platinum status, selling 1.5 million copies in South-East Asia.

>.< Admitting defeat to “Ai Mei” and Devil Beside You. Stole my heart and never gave it back. SOO I’ve watched about almost all dramas starring Rainie as lead role and what can I say. I’m a fan <3!

What do you guys think of Rainie?

Cosplay

Cosplay, short for “costume play”, is basically describing a performing-art behaviour of self-rigging out as a character with corresponding costume, accessories and/or parameters.

In society, interactions of “cosplay” behaviour form a subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, video games, and less commonly, fantasy movies, Japanese pop music bands, Visual Kei, fantasy music stories (such as stories by the band Sound Horizon), novels, and anything in the real world being unique and dramatic (or their more anthropomorphic form). In some circles “cosplay” has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume, without considering the mind of an actor and the common form of “cosplay” in a major “cosplay” culture.

Kipi and Arisa are two of some of the most well-known cosplayers. Jin Joson, Mei Wai, Mishin, Neneko, and Stay are just a few of good cosplayers. You can also see Nanao’s Cosplay for awesome cosplay pictures.

Remember to check back for cosplay UPDATES =.{D

Ulzzang

짱 (jjang): Korean slang that means “best.” Ulzzang means “best face” in Korean and the word is used both online and in real life. Basically, an ulzzang is someone who has a very attractive face, but most people use the term to describe people who have become popular for their looks.
The ulzzang craze started in South Korea. Many ulzzang wannabes post up their pictures on various websites, and voting and chatting can be done on many of them. Contests, both online and in real life, are often used to pick the best ulzzangs, but you do not necessarily need to enter or win. Some ulzzangs, however, have not relied solely on the internet. For example, some have gained popularity at school for being attractive. Most ulzzangs, however, use the internet to share their photos, and that is how many become popular.
Many ulzzangs use Haduri, which is a web camera program popular among teens in Korea. People also take normal or digicam pictures. Some even use Photoshop to edit themselves. Fakers don’t make it far, and they usually get busted.
The most famous ulzzangs may earn celebrity status. Some ulzzangs may even become real celebrities by going into acting, singing, or modeling careers. Two examples of former ulzzangs are Goo Hye Sun and Park Han Byul.
