On a not-entirely separate note, a friend showed me this video of a sneezing panda (or was she having the hiccups?) It’s cute! Hopefully we can maintain a good environment for ourselves and animals like these.

My pet Koffee has not been eating much the past few weeks. It seems like his bowl always has some leftovers and other times, he would seem totally uninterested with the food. I only give him dog food because it’s the easiest for me to prepare and for consistency - I heard that some pets get picky and only eat certain favorite foods. But now i’m thinking, could the food be boring him? He has been eating Holistic Recipe’s Lamb and Rice with Green tea for a few months now. I was so tempted to go out and buy him some of the more “tasty” (and more expensive) dog food like eukanuba, science diet or royal canin, but finally decided against it because of the price and the smell of the you-know-what after he eats other dog food. Also, the main reason why I chose to give Koffee Holistic in the first place was because I believe that it would be healthier for him and it’s not as expensive as the other holistic brands like the one from Fromm Family Recently, I heard that Ellen Degenres is also endorsing a new holistic dog food called Halo.

Oh, going back to Koffee… I made sure to give him his deworming meds to make sure that he isn’t sick with some parasite and then I tried to trick him into taking some vitamins by coating some of his fav treats with it and i think it helped a bit. At least he is getting some energy from the vitamins and hopefully it would also increase his appetite. Nowadays, i notice that there are still some leftovers in his bowl but whenever i sit down and watch him, he would walk over to his bowl and finish it up. Could it be that he is just asking for attention? I haven’t been spending much time with him… with all the school, work and other activities lately.

I saw this hilarious entry from ataraxia’s blog and thought it would be a great advance Happy Halloween entry. Seems like even our little pets are into the trick-or-treating spirit.

My pet Koffee had been stuck at home for a couple of weeks now because I have been so busy and haven’t had the chance to take him out to “socialize”. Just when I was telling myself I need to bring him out this coming weekend, I saw this cute Hello Kitty pet bag!! It even has a cute Hello Kitty cut-out portion where you can check your little pet  and give proper ventilation.

He doesn’t like the neighborhood cats too much. If i do get one, I hope my dog likes the bag…(hey, it’s hello kitty!)

I’m so excited to go diving soon! My friends mentioned that they had a very pleasant and unexpected encounter with a whale shark at my favorite and closest diving area; Batangas, just 3 hrs away from Manila. According to her, the current was very strong so she and her friends were drifting with the current when all of a sudden, they sa something huge! They couldn’t believe their eyes! The whale shark (locally known as Butanding) was spotted near the Mainit school in Mabini, Batangas. The curious whale shark stayed with them for a good 20-30 mins and they have the video to prove it!!

Prior to this encounter, some members of the camera club I belong to has mentioned seeing a whale shark at the Cathedral dive site as well but they didn’t have video of it. We are not sure if it’s the same whale shark.

It seems like the change in the seasons and climate has affected our marine life tremendously. Whale shark sightings are a major tourist attraction in areas like Donsol and Dumagete in the Visayas region. In fact, a trip to those areas to see the whale shark was in my to-do-list-before-i-die. Areas like Batangas never had sightings of Butandings before.

Recently, there’s been news of more sightings around Puerto Princessa in Palawan of a whale shark as well. BBC Wildlife photographer of the Year (2002) Duncan Murrell was there and was amazed by the 20-foot long whale shark! Have a look at this great picture!

It’s been a rainy/stormy few days here and I decided to give Koffee back his old blanket. He’s been sneezing lately and might be getting a bad cold, with the cooler weather and his new shorter fur cut and all. I took it away from him when he was pup because he kept gnawing on it which had small tassle-like ends.

Does’t he look cute with that banket? Made me think about getting him a nicer looking outfit for his walks.
