Rare shark found - cry for help?
Are the deep sea creatures making a cry for help?
I remember there was a hoax email sent out before right after the tsunami hit… but this one seems legit.

Scientists say they videotaped this rare frilled shark shortly before it died. The shark normally lives about 2,000 feet below the surface.
“The Awashima Marine Park in Shizuoka, south of Tokyo, was alerted by a fisherman at a nearby port on Sunday that he had spotted an odd-looking eel-like creature with a mouthful of needle-sharp teeth.
Marine park staff caught the 5 foot (1.6 meter) long creature, which they identified as a female frilled shark, sometimes referred to as a “living fossil” because it is a primitive species that has changed little since prehistoric times. ”
Got this from CNN.

I don’t think even the mighty Kooh has ever seen a creature like that on her adventures in the 7 seas. That thing is creepy! >.

I saw video of this on the news the other day! It’s incredible. It looked old..and like it was about to go to shark heaven, too. I love it when you see things you don’t get to normally.

I’m certainly keeping my eye on this blog for more interesting facts on animals (though I’ll probably keep away from the sharks from now on) […]
