While waiting to buy my Lanvins, in the meantime I will be happy with my black fringe boots…

I think it’s a classic, Kate (do I even need to mention the last name?) has been wearing it years ago…

And they just won’t seem to go away…

…and this season, it’s just more visible than ever! I’ve seen it mostly on Japanese girls and they just look so cute wearing it with short dresses and shorts! So kawaii!!!

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa

Monday, March 10th, 2008

I found out from my friend Chico’s blog that these exclusively designed shoes by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa will sell for Php 7,500 in the Philippines!

Given that this is a creation of the fabulously eccentric British designer Vivienne Westwood, and Melissa shoes are known for being comfortable, would you buy plastic shoes for Php 7,500?

Apple Leather Care

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

I’m sure you must own something made of leather, be it shoes, bags or a jacket maybe? If so, I’m sure it didn’t come cheap, after all, genuine leather, especially the buttery soft ones come at a price! That’s why I highly recommend that you use a leather care product to prolong its useful life.

According to Apple Polishes Inc., the maker of the Apple Brand of leather care products (nothing to do with the makers of your iEverything!)…

“To retain its beauty and other desirable qualities, leather requires frequent conditioning to replace the natural lubricants lost during normal use. With the proper care, leather can be protected from excessive dryness that can cause it to crack, and from moisture that may cause it to swell or mildew.

Because unprotected leather is susceptible to spotting from water and other liquids, a newly purchased leather item should be treated immediately to help prevent permanent stains from occurring.

The use of too much oil and wax, however, can clog pores, causing leather to lose its ability to allow air in and moisture out.”

Which makes Apple Leather Care products the logical choice of course! Because their products are “free of waxes, oils, or additives, which interfere with the cleaning process.”

Hmmm, I think it’s time for me to get a cleaning kit ASAP!

The Sole Savior of Louboutin Fans

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

There are a select group of women who have no qualms spending at least P20,000 for a pair of shoes by Christian Louboutin.

Sure, they claim that his heels are comfortable and that his designs are not only fabulous, they are simply sexy. But really, I think it’s all about the red soles that make them go and buy Louboutins. They know that the flash of red as they walk past by will solicit the admiring stares of people “in the know”.

So what happens when these red soles get all worn out? Arty’s Shoe Service in New York comes to the rescue, as Allure magazine tells its readers!

Re-soling those Louboutins costs $40, about the same amount for a new pair of shoes for those with a “practical” streak. But for the rarefied breed who value their red soles, it’s a small price to pay to keep their soul, I mean, sole pure.

Loeffler Randall Emmy D-Ring Boots

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Please please please go on sale! I implore the Universe to heed my call!!!

loefller-randall-emmy.jpg

I’ve searched high and low for winter boots and these are the best ones I’ve seen so far! These Loeffler Randall boots will go with just about anything and can be dressed up or down! I also like the fact the the toe is shaped in a classic way, not too rounded, not at all square nor pointy - which makes it a classic in my book!

The brains behind the shoe company that makes the sort of shoes I really want to wear are husband and wife Jessie Loeffler Randall and Brian Murphy. They started only in 2004 and look at where they are now! With the simple philosophy of designing shoes they want to wear but couldn’t find (we have the same taste in shoes apparently heehee!) the label has become a fast favorite among fashionistas and Hollywood stars alike!

A trip to New York will not be complete without doing a bit of shopping, so should you have the chance to go out of the city, I suggest that you go to Central Valley, New York and visit Woodbury Common Premium Outlets to do some more shopping!

dsc02734.JPG

Woodbury Common is the largest OUTLET destination in the United States! With 220 stores, from premium brands like Gucci, Tods, Bottega Veneta, Christian Dior, Chanel, YSL, Loro Piana, Burberry and Judith Leiber to labels like True Religion, Betsey Johnson, UGG, Lacoste, Kate Spade and Tory Burch you’ll surely get excited right? Of course, outlet staples like Nine West, Le Sportsac, GAP, Banana Republic and Ralph Lauren are there as always. From clothing to home goods, kitchen supplies, sporting goods, luggages and furniture, there’s enough to keep the whole family happy! Note, you’d need a whole day to make the most of your visit there!

If you don’t have friends or relatives who can drive you there, there are shopping excursions to Woodbury Common from Port Authority, New York City (42nd Street & Eighth Avenue). Bus fare is approximately $30, round trip. So go ahead, and shop till you drop!

I wonder what Mr. Jacobs was thinking when he designed this shoe? I mean come one, yeah his name was once Mark Silver, before he changed it to Jacobs…but this is just so…GOLD! I wouldn’t buy it, even if retailed for $5.

Would you?

Hello There!

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Hello there Sanriotownmates! If there’s one thing we have in common, its the fact that we all grew up loving Hello Kitty and the gang! Maybe not just loving it, maybe even more than that. Because back in the day, I was OBSESSED with anything if not everything Sanrio.

In grade school, I had to have the Hello Kitty watch, the metal lunch box, the pencil case, all the stationery and stickers I could get my hands on. By the time high school rolled by it was the Kerokerokeroppi compact mirror, the plastic fan, the notebooks, pens and mechanical pencils that meant the world to me.

Not long after that, I found a new obsession. Fashion! Anything and everything about clothes! And shoes! And bags! But that never dampened my fascination with Sanrio. It always brings back fun memories of my childhood, when life was simpler, when all it would take was a trip to Gift Gate (the only store selling Sanrio merchandise in the Philippines) to make me happy. Because sadly for my pockets, these days the equivalent of that would be a trip to some swanky shop on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan!

dsc08941.JPGBut well, sometimes luck smiles down upon me and I stumble upon a treasure trove of luxury goodies! Just check out the department store outlet stores! On an ideal day, you might even call it some kind of shoe heaven! Where all the good shoes go after they last their season!

Here’s what I found at the Neiman Marcus outlet store in Jersey Garden Mall - rows and rows of Manolo Blahniks. Not to mention, Christian Louboutin, Dior, Prada, and Marc Jacobs shoe-sies!!!

Manolo Blahniks!

Sigh!!!
