What I love about being in New York is meeting fashion industry insiders and talented designers who make up the exciting pulse that can only be felt in Manhattan.

Last month, I met Candy Benedicto of Rina Matea to write about her trunk show at the famed Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue for On the Radar. Candy was born in the Philippines but moved to New York after 1 year in UP Diliman. She ended up taking up law at Fordham, but eventually gave in to her creative urges to study interior design and eventually, millinery.

Impressed by her talent, I couldn’t help but order a custom cloche from her! I can’t wait to get my head in her hat!!! Oh dear, I’m due for a hat attack!!!
