Chanel Mobile Art

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Chanel lovers, take heed! The Lagerfeld led Mobile Art exhibit in Central Park, here in New York, will showcase the works of 15 contemporary artists. According the the NY Times, each was “…Asked to create a work that was at least in part inspired by Chanel’s classic quilted-style handbag. Artists recruited for the project include Sophie Calle of France, Sylvie Fleury of Switzerland, Subodh Gupta of India and the Russian collective Blue Noses.”

If that wasn’t enough, the structure that houses the exhibit was designed by world famous London architect Zaha Hadid! For this alone, I will go just to be inside a Zaha Hadid designed infrastructure!

The exhibit will be open to the public beginning October 20th. It will be located at the Rumsey Playfield, midpark at 70th Street.

The exhibit runs from October 20 to November 9, 2008.

Elizabeth & James Cohen Shirt

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

The Olsen twins have style, there’s no doubt about it. They are also an inspiration to petite girls everywhere because they’ve proved that small girls can wear the most unexpected pieces.

So it comes as no surprise that I fell in love with their plaid shirts. I mean, I’ve always loved plaid but these ones by Elizabeth & James are seriously cool…

They’re not lumberjack-ish at all…

The fit is not loose and slouchy, yet it still has a casual cool kind of vibe…

Plus I’m loving the detail at the back…All those buttons running down the spine…

It sends chills up my spine in a good way! Now if only a Cohen shirt didn’t cost $225! Tsk!

Converse x Colette x Gap

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

You know how people say that gorgeous parents usually have ugly kids?

Well now I understand this in fashion terms. I love Converse All Stars, I practically live in my Chucks. I love shopping at The Gap! I always walk away with something I like from there, even if I had no plans of really buying anything. And I especially love Colette, because it just happens to be a retail destination! A trip to Paris just isn’t complete without visiting Colette.

But look at what happened to this poor little thing…

Maybe it’s just me, but I am not in love with these shoes…
