Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

If you are on the market for a New York City souvenir, forget the I Heart NY tees and NY mugs!

Get this instead! A handy dandy tote from Foley and Corinna! It’s made from the highest quality leather and it is made and produced right in New York City!

I’m loving that you can wear this three ways, on your shoulder with the handles, as a shoulder bag, or as a clutch! Another item in my still be fulfilled wish list! Aaargh!

Mike & Chris Leather Jacket

A leather jacket has been on my wish list since we moved here. And I would love to get my hands on one from Mike & Chris, hopefully soon!

The husband and wife team has made a cult classic out of distressed leather jackets, so much so that their work has been featured in Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. I’m not too hot about it being worn by all the celebs though, but I just love the laid back but chic vibe I’m getting from their jackets! Sigh!

Love Quotes Scarf

Scarves are hot hot hot! And I don’t mean it temperature wise!

I’m talking about scarves as seen on everyone, from celebs to society chicks, and common folks just like us!

Of course, in the hierarchy of scarves, there are more popular labels that get everyone’s attention. And one of them is Love Quotes.

The brand name stems from the fact that each scarf has a different quote on the tag. It is made out of lightweight Italian linen/viscose with hand knotted fringes and can be worn as a scarf, wrap or sarong.

But maybe, the reason why these scarves are special, is because 10% of Love Quotes’ net profits are donated to International children’s charities! Which makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside and out!

Club Monaco Fashion Week Gimmick

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Fashion Week is one of the most important events in New York, with everyone in fashion out to strut their stuff. But when all the fashion labels are out there trying to stand out from all the rest, how do you set yourself apart and get everyone looking?

Lots of ads on the streets and subways? No!

Several pages of full page advertorials in all the leading fashion glossies? Not really!

A big shebang at the Bryant Park Tents? Could be!

Or a row of mini cars emblazoned with your logo?

Most definitely! While I’m pretty sure these drummed up awareness for Club Monaco, I hope this little stunt translates to lots of sales for them!

Current/Elliot Boyfriend Jeans in Super Loved Destroyed

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

The latest craze that’s hit denim lovers here is Current/Elliot Boyfriend Jeans!

Young Hollywood has been seen wearing these cuffed boyfriend jeans all over town, so expect to see cheaper versions/derivations of these in stores in the months to come!

Enders Island

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

To show you how picturesque and pretty Mystic, CT is, let me take you to St. Edmund’s Enders Island, a retreat facility (for recovering alcoholics if I remember right) near Mystic Seaport, that is just so serene and quiet, it is certainly the perfect place for healing, meditation and self-discovery!

While my Dear Hubby, our friend Uni and my in-laws were busy taking photos, I sat on a rocking chair in one of the meditation spots, the gazebo in the picture below, which faces the water front.

In five minutes, I promptly fell asleep, the cool sea breeze lulling me to dreamland! No kidding!

Because I just love cool, quiet, pretty places, I would certainly love to have a place like this for a vacation home!

Horsey Wind Vane

I just love how pretty and quaint the town of Mystic is! Everything here has flair. Check out this wind vane high on top of a store’s roof!

More Lobster Goodness

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

If you don’t feel like eating fresh lobster, then there’s always a hot lobster roll, or some steaming lobster bisque to fill your grumbling tummy at Abbott’s!

Photobucket

Fine, it may not look appetizing, but trust me when I say this is sooooo good!!! I can’t wait for the next spring/summer season and get my fill of lobster yumminess from Abbott’s!

Mystic, Connecticut

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

If you’ve seen the movie Mystic Pizza (starring a very young Julia Roberts), then it might interest you to know that this is the place where it was filmed! Mystic, Connecticut!

Photobucket

It’s such a charming and quaint little town, filled with historic homes, picturesque scenery, hints of a fishing lifestyle…

Photobucket

…and of course, great food!

Unfortunately, I still haven’t tried the very popular Mystic Pizza (also known as a “Slice of Heaven”) because we drove farther down to nearby Noank, CT for this:

Their specialty being…

Let’s just say, Abbott’s restaurant is only open 6 months in a year, so Mystic Pizza can wait! Anyway, pizza will always be there year round, hahaha!
