The Philippine Star’s “On The Radar 4″ Out Today!

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

And the best part is, my first article for On The Radar debuts as well! I interviewed Pim Sukhahuta, head designer of Sretsis, the Thai label that has been on everybody’s lips these days, from Bangkok to Bondi to Brooklyn!

Minnetonka Suede Fringed Knee High Boots

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

While waiting to buy my Lanvins, in the meantime I will be happy with my black fringe boots…

Photobucket

I think it’s a classic, Kate (do I even need to mention the last name?) has been wearing it years ago…
Photobucket

And they just won’t seem to go away…
Photobucket

…and this season, it’s just more visible than ever! I’ve seen it mostly on Japanese girls and they just look so cute wearing it with short dresses and shorts! So kawaii!!!

My Winter Boots!

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Be still my beating heart!

Photobucket

Soon soon, this Lanvin boot will be MINE!!!

I’ve wanted this for so long, and I really just can’t let go! These boots also go well with everything I own. And it just suits my style you know? Hehehe! I tried looking at other boots - Isabel Marant, Loeffler Randall, etc. but I’ve found nothing at par! So why settle right? Sigh!

Latex/Leather Leggings Love

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

When bloggers Agathe and Susie Bubble started wearing latex leggings a year or so ago, I thought it was so avant-garde it was not really going to make its way to the masses.

But fast forward to today and it seems that latex leggings are becoming a street staple! It’s everywhere at every price point, from high street retailer H&M to specialty labels like Kova&T.

From Kova & TPhotobucket

Heck, even Members Only bounced back from the 80s and came up with these ridiculously cool leggingsPhotobucket

Of course, luxury lovers wouldn’t settle with latex and would go for luxe leather, such as this motorcycle pant from The Row which costs a cool $1700…

Now that’s what I call Crazy, Sexy, Cool!

The Lost Continent

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

…An ageless land of ancient myths and epic legends. From a castle guarded by warring dragons to a battle of titans beneath the sea, heart-pounding adventure awaits around every corner…

When a statue of a giant eagle welcomes you, you should know it’s going to be another great “adventure” inside the Lost Continent!

Photobucket

But it wasn’t as fun as Toon Lagoon and Suess Landing though. As much as I loved reading fairy tales, mythical characters and fire-breathing dragons as a kid, I just didn’t feel “transported” in time if you know what I mean.

Photobucket

But but but, I love roller coaster rides so Dear Hubby and I definitely tried out the Dueling Dragons roller coaster ride! Two coasters simultaneously go at once and while they are on separate tracks, they give out the illusion of meeting head-on! It was so exhilarating! And the angles were so steep, I had trouble raising my head, I thought I was going to snap my neck off when I forced my head to go up! Crazy!

Other than that, the attractions were mostly shows. We skipped The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad , a live-action stunt show located in the ancient Arabia section and felt shortchanged by Poseidon’s Fury, an indoor special-effects show located in the mythological Greece section. Poseidon’s Fury’s section looked massive and imposing, and the line there was ridiculously long, so when we ended up just standing up the whole time being held “hostage” by Poseidon’s enemy, I just couldn’t wait for it to be over. Yeah, it was kind of a waste of time. Hehe!

Jurassic Park!

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Yes! Dear Hubby and I went there!!!

Photobucket

It was sooooo scary! We encountered this T-rex! Waaahhhhh!!!!

Photobucket

We artfully dodged it! But Dear Hubby forced me to take a picture beside the next dinosaur we saw! Huhuhu!

Photobucket

Thank goodness it was not a real dinosaur! And that we were still inside Islands of Adventure! Hahaha!

Suess Landing!

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Because I grew up reading Dr. Suess books, Suess Landing was my most favorite place in Islands of Adventure!!! I really felt transported into the World of Dr. Suess!

Here’s The Cat in the Hat!

Eep! There’s the Grinch!

Oh, and of course, my favorite! The Mulberry Street Store!

Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure!

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

While in Orlando, we also went to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, which definitely brought out the kids in us!

I mean, how could you not when you feel like a cartoon character in Toon town?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Even the ice cream kiosk looks so animated, like it was straight out of a cartoon!
Photobucket

And when the statue of the town hero looks like this?

So fun!!!

Sea World Orlando!

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Dear Hubby and I went to Orlando for a weekend of theme park fun!

Of course, we went to Sea World, not for Shamu really, although I have to say that was a very entertaining show…
Photobucket

but for Kracken!!!
Photobucket

It’s the fastest, longest, tallest and only floorless roller coaster in the US, hey, maybe even the world?!

Before I start packing up our shorts and sandals, join me in giving a toast to summer by keeping these images of a Brooklyn backyard BBQ…
