Hello Kitty & My Melody PEZ

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Have you ever heard of PEZ candies? I’m sure you have, they’ve been around for ages (80 years in fact!) and are not only enjoyed by kids alone but serious collectors too!

PEZ is a fun candy, but its really the candy dispensers that give it that “OOMPH”. The first dispenser was produced in 1950, but the original PEZ dispenser looked like a lighter. In 1952, the company added little heads on top to make the product more attractive. These days, the new generation PEZ dispensers come with soft coats (to look like a stuffed toy) or are interactive, to make it more fun and collectible.

But still nothing beats these PEZ dispensers with Sanrio characters for heads!!! Cute huh?

Ice Ice Baby on Valentine’s Day

Now these would be the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift don’t you think? Even just a pair of those simple diamond stud earrings on the right side will do! Hahaha!

But seriously, Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be cause for pressure or disdain.

If you’re single, love yourself and treat yourself well because you deserve it! If you’re attached, then show your love in little ways, thoughtful acts like buying your honey’s favorite food or giving him/her a cute trinket to remember you by when you’re not together - doesn’t necessarily have to be fancy or expensive you know!

The best gift of all of course would be your love, devotion and loyalty. No chocolates, jewelry or diamonds can top that!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!!

Treats from Tiffany’s

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

If your honey doesn’t have a sweet tooth, then how about trinkets from Tiffany’s? Any girl would love to get that little blue box with a white ribbon! Even if they open it to find a spoon or keychain inside! Heehee!

Lookie at Tiffany’s Valentine’s day display window as seen at their Fifth Avenue flagship store…

Brooklyn Brownstones

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

dsc_0420.JPG

Fine, these photos of brownstones are in black and white, but trust me, these are brownstones…hehehe! To clarify, these homes are called brownstones because they are made of brown Triassic sandstone, which was once a popular building material. Now of course, homes are made of cheaper, man made materials so you can just imagine how expensive these structures are now!

This street of brownstones in Park Slope, Brooklyn are not only rare these days, they are “historical” as well, since modern building materials have practically obliterated such type of developments. So don’t be surprised if I tell you that one brownstone home in Park Slope costs about $3 Million!!!

Giant Steaming Hotdog

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Have you ever seen a hotdog on wheels?

csc_0383.JPG

Ok, now you have! Hehehe!

Dear Hubby and I were walking along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and we couldn’t help but be amused by this hotdog mobile! The funny thing was, there was an exhaust pipe or something by the sidewalk, so it looked like the giant hotdog just got out fresh from the steamer! Cute no?

This “vehicle” is actually called the Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile™.It is 55 hotdogs long, 18 hotdogs wide and 25 hotdogs tall! Which translates to 27×8x11 feet!

Good thing its on wheels, otherwise I would take a bite out of it! Hahaha!

A NYC Showroom Part II

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

dsc05375.JPGIt’s NY Fashion Week and I just can’t help but to be excited about being in the midst of it all!

Today, I had a fun experience of visiting a New York City showroom featuring European designers. The showroom caters to high end boutiques, so you can just imagine the stuff in there! Luxurious fabrics, fabulous jewelry, bags made out of exotic skins! Truly GORGEOUS! I feel like I died and woke up in heaven!!!

Hello Kitty Candies

Monday, February 4th, 2008

dsc05312.JPG

In Apple, Peach, Orange and Lemon!

Guess where I saw these? My favorite Korean grocery Han Ah Reum of course! But since I didn’t want to spend $5 for a bag of candies, I just decided to take a picture right there in the grocery store! Heehee! El Cheapo!

But I have to admit, I was tempted to buy this. I’ve always been attracted to any item as long as it was packaged so nicely! It doesn’t hurt that Hello Kitty’s face was there staring back at me!
