For the Hello Kitty Bookworm…The Finale

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

Bookworms are not only smart, they have excellent manners too!

Here’s a box of note cards for writing “Thank Yous”, or other little thoughtful notes to your grandparents, cousins abroad, or maybe friends you haven’t spent time with in a while…

….and a sticker set to pick one from, to seal the envelope of your note card with! ;-)

Moved by your sweet gesture of remembering them, they might just drop by to pay you a visit, so be ready to entertain your family and friends with this domino set… dsc04707.JPG

Or maybe a Shopping Spree Game?

Woohoo! What fun!

Here are close up shots of the Hello Kitty Bookworm items that are just so adorable, I was actually tempted to buy for myself! But of course, I have self-control so I didn’t. Heehee! But well, I want to share these with you!

A cute bookmark with Hello Kitty reading a book with you! Will make you want to read another book as soon as you’re done, just so you have an excuse to use it…

A bright Light Up Pen! So you can make notes, or jot down lines from the book that move and inspire you…dsc04709.JPG

And a handy dandy Portable Desk, so you can comfortably read your favorite book or do your homework wherever you please!

For the Hello Kitty Bookworm Part I

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

I passed by Barnes and Noble a couple of days ago to buy a gift for Dear Hubby’s colleague. As you know, Barnes and Noble is a great place to pass the time, with tons of magazines, books, maps, stationery and other supplies to amuse you.

What I didn’t expect was to see Hello Kitty there!

Check out these display of Hello Kitty goodies that will surely please the little bookworm in your life, if not force her to read — with the incentive of accumulating these goodies one by one…

Christmas at Bryant Park

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Bryant Park is best known as the place for holding New York’s Fashion Week. But come Christmas, the place is transformed into a Christmas extravaganza complete with a giant Christmas tree…

The L’Oreal Company Store

Friday, December 21st, 2007

dsc03612-1.JPG

Right in the heart of New York City, just on 5th Avenue and 47th Street is the L’Oreal Office and their Company Store!

If you want to save money on perfumes, and L’Oreal brands like Kerastase, Inneov, Skinceuticals, Kiehl’s and Shu Uemura, then this is the place to go to! The selection may not be that much, but hey, it’s still worth a visit as you never know what bargains await you! And we are talking of huge discounts here!

There’s a catch though! You would need a guest pass, or be accompanied by a L’Oreal employee to get your hands on these goodies :-(

What I know of however, is that if you participate in a research study conducted by L’Oreal’s Consumer Expressions Research Center, you will definitely score a guest pass as one of the perks. Otherwise, seek employment with L’Oreal! Not only do they have the company store at their disposal, I hear they get $55 every two months to spend for purchases in the company store, among other benefits! Not bad, not bad at all!

Apple Fifth Avenue 24/7

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

dsc03549.JPG

You got that right! Apple’s Fifth Avenue store is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

Apple fanatics who can’t wait to buy their latest Apple obsession can easily drop by the store any time of day to indulge. And if they are not yet entirely sure about purchasing, they can road test any of the more than 100 Macs and nearly 200 iPods before they buy!

A tip for tourists who need to check on their mail…go here! All the Macs are hooked online! ;-)

Lucky for those who have the iPhone, that wouldn’t be necessary, but still, it’s a must to see the Shrine that Apple built!

Apple Store Fifth Avenue is located at 767 Fifth Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets, right beside Central Park and FAO Schwarz.

Grand Central Market

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Grand Central Station is the largest train station in the world and is a familiar backdrop for those who enjoy movies and TV shows (Gossip Girl as of late!). Tourists come to the Station just to take photos and to sink in the busy atmosphere as commuters pass them by to catch their ride…

dsc03563-1.JPG

What not a lot of people know is that the Grand Central Market inside the Station is a “must see” as well!

dsc03570-1.JPG

This hall full of gourmet goodies is a foodie’s delight! Take your pick from Italian deli fare to fresh seafoods, breads & pastries, chocolates, cheese, fruits, nuts, spices and even flowers! Even if you have no plans of buying anything, just check it out and feast your senses with the tastes and sights that Grand Central Market has to offer!

Grand Central Station is at 87 E 42nd St, New York, New York.

Guylian Perles d’Ocean in Support of Project Seahorse

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

I love Belgian chocolates like Cote d’Or and Guylian so I was pleasantly surprised when Dear Hubby surprised me with Guylian chocolate seashells from out of the blue!

dsc04683.JPG

As we were enjoying a chocolate seashell each, I realized that Dear Hubby not only made me very happy, he also supported “Project Seahorse” by buying a box of these melt in your mouth goodies!

dsc04681.JPG

As the inside flap of the box reads, “Project Seahorse is devoted to stopping the gradual disappearance of these delicate creatures from the oceans of the world. Today, Project Seahorse biologists and social workers are active in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, South Africa, the Philippines (that’s us!), Portugal, UK, USA and Vietnam.”

Wow, reading that made these chocolate a lot more sweeter! Isn’t my Dear Hubby wonderful?

(To find out more about Project Seahorse, write to Guylian or visit http://seahorse.fisheries.ubc.ca/index.html)

Hello Kitty Surprise

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Look at what I discovered at Marshall’s this weekend!

While Dear Hubby was in line to pay for his purchases, my friend Ivy and I were curious to see what was inside this cute little box with a handle!

dsc04660.JPG

We thought it was a cute trinket, or maybe stationery pads and stickers inside, so I had to open the box just to see!

And this is what we found…Tadaa!

dsc04662.JPG

A Hello Kitty watch with pink “leather” straps and a cute watch face for $12.99 only! Hey, not bad!!!
