Magnolia Bakery
Tucked in a corner of Bleecker Street is the famous Magnolia Bakery…
A West Village institution, their cupcakes are very popular with both New Yorkers and tourists - - it practically has a cult following! It is not uncommon to see a line of eager customers, who can’t wait to sink their teeth into a sugarload of sweet and pretty cupcakes!
My verdict? You have to eat these right away! It’s so good while fresh, but gets sickeningly sweet when you let it sit for a while! But still, a must try for visiting guests who want a taste of a slice of the Big Apple! (Hehehe!)
The must try in my book, is their Banana Pudding! Oh my gosh! Words cannot describe the burst of vanilla and banana together with the spongy cake that truly melts in your mouth! Now this one, I will keep on coming back for!
This is one of the best desserts I have ever tried!!! Ever!!!

I wanted to try their cupcakes since people are raving about it so much. Plus I am on this mission of trying out all the possible cupcakes out there. hahaha So far I have tasted 3 here in L.A. and Sprinkles’ red velvet cupcake is still it for me. Crumbs are bigger but too sweet. Frosted are smaller, good but lacked the hint of cocoa that Sprinkles has.

Magnolia cupcakes are definitely a must try rainysummer! But I suggest that you eat it right there and then, otherwise, the icing gets really sweet once you let it “sit” or once stored inside the refrigerator!

Yes, Sonja was inspired by the Magnolia Bakery. Is the packaging the same? I see the similarity with Sprinkles cupcakes. I also liked the red velvet of Sprinkles! Yummy! Had hoped Anton brought some more of that.
The banana pudding looks yummy messy! hahaha
