THE REAL REASON WHY FRIENDSTER’s fvcked UP
Five million Filipinos can’t find their friends this morning, because Friendster is down. Jim Ayson’s contact at the social networking service says the downtime is due to a power outage at Friendster’s US data center.
To be fair, Friendster is trying to engage the local blogosphere in a key geographic market. Most of their users are in the Philippines, where I also happen to be based. They invited me to a roundtable with their marketing guy the other day, but I was too busy to come. Nevertheless, all the marketing in the world cannot make up for service outages.
Of course, Facebook is now the world’s number one social network, so we’ve still got that to keep up with our friends. I’m going to watch the traffic stats on this post to see if anyone still cares about Friendster.
A friend of mine just called me to tell me that QTS’s Sunnyvale had a major power event today. Details are slim, but apparently it was an entire site outage. He told me that he’s about 50th in line to get access to the facility right now. Due to this outage, Friendster is offline right now.

nagkaroon po ng Power Problem sa US.. (sa place kung san andon ung database ng friendster) or sa filipino term “BROWN OUT”
BROWN OUT? baket namn nawala?: ok.. ill give you an example.. you see.. i have my own server.. my own host. my own social network.. and pag nagka power problem ako.. boom! sira ang database… mag roroll back.. or mas malala.. MABUBURA.. (ULIT UMPISA) unless: may Backup ako..
WE ALL HOPE NA MAY BACKUP ANG FRIENDSTER.

MY ADVICE IS: relax lang muna tayo… binigyan naman tayo ng FRIENDSTER ng FREE SOCIAL NETWORKING SERVICES, na HINDI SILA NA NININGIL. dyan tayo nakakuha ng friends, ng ka relationship, or even long lost relative.
SO PLEASE. stop cursing them.. instead.. SUPPORT NATIN SILA.. hindi naman nila ginusto yan..

it was only like i have 1000 friends..now its only 15?! i say wutS goiNg on?! its impossible that i have del it all at the same time.. so i ask my brother since his so updated wif fs.. and he told me that some1 hacked the system.. and theres a power disturbance..
omg~!! plz plz plz.. HOPE FRIENDSTER HAS REALLY A BACKUP!!! .. it will be hard to re-trace again yOUr friends and add them up again.. coz it was a year of friendship and surfing.. and heck!! so many time was used just to throw it all away..
