Next Sunday March 28 2010 is what we Catholics celebrate as “Palm Sunday”

So what is Palm Sunday?

Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast which always falls on the Sunday before Easter Sunday. The feast commemorates an event mentioned by all four Canonical Gospels Mark 11:1-11, Matthew 21:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, and John 12:12-19: the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem in the days before his Passion. It is also called Passion Sunday or Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion.

In many Christian churches, Palm Sunday is marked by the distribution of palm leaves (often tied into crosses) to the assembled worshipers. The difficulty of procuring palms for that day’s ceremonies in unfavorable climates for palms led to the substitution of boughs of box, yew, willow or other native trees. The Sunday was often designated by the names of these trees, as Yew Sunday or by the general term Branch Sunday.

Here in the Philippines many of us attend Church bringing Palms and having them blessed. In Filipino language we call it “Palaspas” (Pa-las-pas)

This is the week before the Finals Exam…I will I need all the strength to finish my Business plan at school and review for my Finals Exam.

Oh how I feel like a busy bee… I need honey to boost my energy and perhaps another set of arms…

Tomorrow is our I.T. Day at STI -College Taft..a lot of students are preparing for their respective presentations and the faculty members are all busy getting their students to participate in all the activities starting today until tomorrow.

The I.T. is a yearly activity in all STI branches and is always something to look out for for Freshmen students. T-shirts and Certificates are given to those students who partake in this event.

It also show cases the hidden talents and knowledge of its students and their capability to work as a team.
