Onegai My Melody (おねがいマイメロディ) is an anime series based on the Sanrio character My Melody. Produced by Studio Comet, the first series premiered between 3 April 2005 and 26 March 2006 on Animax and TV Tokyo, spanning 52 episodes. A sequel, Onegai My Melody ~Kuru Kuru Shuffle!~, started airing 2 April 2006 and finished 23 March 2007. With its next sequel, Onegai My Melody Sukkiri♪, each episode has been cut to 10 minutes. This series has also been aired across Japan by Animax and TV Tokyo. Onegai My Melody was also recently broadcast on the Philippines anime channel Hero, dubbed in Tagalog.

Kuromi and Baku were poisoned in a dungeon of Mary Land. One day, they obtained Melody Bow, which was a magical instrument, and escaped from the prison. They went to the human world in order to get dark power by making people see nightmare.
Under these circumstances, My Melody was suspected to help them escape. She was ordered to go to the human world to arrest them to save people’s dream.
In Yumegaoka City, Kromi was making citizens see nightmare. She deceived them saying she would grant their wishes, and she realized the evil dream using Melody Key.
On the other hand, My Melody also arrived in Yumemigaoka City, and met Yumeno Uta. She was a junior high school student. She was helped by My Melody when she was in trouble with her violin that was cast evil magic. Then, My Melody began to live with her. After that, My Melody and Uta were involved in various troubles caused by Kuromi, but they solved them using her Melody Tact, a magical instrument.
However, the trouble was getting escalated. Uta’s family, the friends, and even other people became victims. Finally, Hiiragi whom she secretly loved was involved.

Kuromi (クロミ, Kuromi^?) is the rival of My Melody from the anime Onegai My Melody, was created by Sanrio, and voiced by Junko Takeuchi. She is a white rabbit-like creature, wearing a black jester’s hat with a pink skull on the front and a black “devil” tail in the place of a normal rabbit’s tail. Kuromi’s appearance also looks similar to those of cartoon characters from the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Kuromi is sometimes seen riding on a purple tapir known as Baku; he has the power of flight.

Kuromi is the leader of a tricycle gang known as “Kuromi’s 5.” Other members include a purple cat named Nyanmi, a pale orange dog named Wanmi, a white fox named Konmi, and a grey and white rat named Chumi. They all wear black and drive around in a menacing fashion.

Kuromi is the counterpart to another Sanrio bunny character, My Melody. Although My Melody has warm feelings for Kuromi, Kuromi’s feelings are more inclined to rivalry.

Kuromi is My Melody’s rival with her tapir known as Baku she can transform him into anything.
