I’ve been playing with my coloring effects lately, and I don’t think I’ve been able to choose one that I’ll stick with. Most of the time, I prefer to do cell shading because it gives the painting an edge, making it look refined and very anime-like.

However, I think I want to learn how to be less anime like and blend the colors more. I’m just impatient with the blending process as it takes up a lot of time.

I’m beginning to loosen up a little now. I used to not correct my ink work on the PC because I felt it was “cheating” to do so. For this piece, I went ahead and flipped, moved, redraw anything I thought needed to be changed. I’m pretty happy with how this came out… although I’ll probably change the color of the teapot on the right. and edit the BG a little bit.

I think I want to draw other characters now…
