HKO scores TKO~

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Hahaha I’m sorry I just had to, I’ve been wanting to say that for a long time now :P

Well, it’s all over the net now, seriously it’s amazing how many people are excited about Hello Kitty Online! Personally, I think this isn’t a “girl’s” game, I think a lot of guys will be wanting to play this (provided that they’re secure about their masculinity moohaha~). And why not? It looks like a fun, casual game, a lot of people are looking for stuff like that.

Honestly I’m impressed with the graphics! This screenshot in particular, gets special mention from me~

Hello Kitty Online 01

Waaaaah~ I love it! They look like servings of leche flan! Leche flan is a Filipino egg-cream custard, it’s so delicious. Wanna see why? Here’s a picture:

Leche Flan

SEE? Hahaha~ Anyways, I signed up for a closed beta account, but according to the site, there are over 40,000 subscriptions already. I sure hope I can still get an account! ^^

Tiniest Hello Kitty USB Memstick

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

It’s all over the official blogs, but I believe this is a perfect thing to post here~ ^^

It’s a USB memory stick that comes in 1GB. There’s hardly any more info on it, but judging from the picture, it’s really a Sanriotown gadget! As you can see, it’s just a bit bigger than a normal-sized paperclip, and looks pretty thin too! It looks like a stick of gum frankly :P

I can’t wait to find out where I can get it. I wonder if it’s gonna be a Kittyshop thing? Although, I do wish it came in other colors~

Hello Kitty at the Penang Lantern Festival

Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel at the Penang Lantern Festival 2007

The Penang Iternational Lantern Festival is an annual event that starts September 15 all thru December 31. It’s currently being held in Juru Auto City, and entrance is at 15MYR (around US$4.5) for adults and 8MYR (around US$2) for kids. It has different themes each year, and the theme this year was…

*drumroll*

Hello Kitty and Friends in Penang Safari! *o*

So as the name suggests, the whole gang was there, and this is just one of the many awesome pictures I found of them on the net:

Hello Kitty and Friends at the Penang Lantern Festival

Squeee! A long time for a lantern festival, and I bet it would’ve been awesome seeing the beautiful lanterns up close~ ^^

Anyway, I’m sure you all want to see the other pictures, so you can check them out through VKeong (Malaysian blog where I found these pics), or by searching “penang international lantern festival 2007″ in Google. ^^

Hello Kitty at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Hello Kitty at the Macy’s Day Parade

Well, I only get to see the parade on TV, as I don’t live in the US :P But it always looks soooo great! Anyway, this year’s parade is really special for us since, as you can see, there was a huge Hello Kitty balloon!

The photo is from AP btw. Hello Kitty appeared as her superhero self Supercute. Here’s a short excerpt from the Foxnews article:

This year’s 11 giant helium balloons include three new ones: William Steig’s swamp-loving ogre, “Sesame Street’s” fairy-in-training Abby Cadabby and Hello Kitty Supercute, the cape- and tiara-wearing feline superhero.

Just a short history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It apparently started in the 1920s, as many of Macy’s department store’s employees were first-generation immigrants. Because they were so happy to become American citizens, they wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving Day — the way they did it in Europe.

In 1929, the existing thanksgiving parade from a certain Bamberger’s store in New Jersey, was taken by Macy’s in New York. It was already similar to what we see today, and it was such a success that Macy’s announced it would be an annual event! Hurray~ :)

Anyways, you can find a cute little keychain of Supercute at the Sanrio shop. :)

Hello Kitty Key Chain Box

I feel really bad about this, coz I can’t find a better pic! T_T Anyways this is a Hello Kitty Key Chain Box, and I found it on DreamKitty. For those of you like me who often lose their keys~ XD

Dimensions are 12.5″ x 7.75″ x 10, and it costs US$50. ^^ Oh and you can put other stuff in it too. Coz I love dangling earrings and lose them a lot too rofl XD

Oh oh btw…

You guys notice that Sanriotown was down over the weekend? T_T I’m not sure how long but I was checking it yesterday and I couldn’t log in. I think there are still some problems now but it’s pretty much okay I guess… I mean, I got to post. ANYWAY, I found this official statement thingy on the main blog:

Hello everyone. If some of you have encountered any problems with SanrioTown this weekend, we’re terribly sorry for this, but our servers have reached too high a load, causing the site to go into downtime. Rest assured that no data was lost during this period, and everything will soon be back to normal. If you notice any problems, do let us know by sending an email to support@hellokitty.com.

Again, we’re really sorry about this, and we thank you for continuing to support SanrioTown.

Wah I hope it goes back to normal really soon, it’s hard refreshing and checking back so often @_@

Kitty Mint

Monday, June 4th, 2007

Euros

No, not the candy type of mint. I’m talking about a 50 euro coin minted from gold and silver. I would like to get your reaction on this guys, and get your friends’ reactions too maybe. Heheh.

Yes, that is what it looks like, and you read right. Kitty has gone on to the world of grown-ups, she has her own mon-ay~ It’s a collector’s item minted by Monnaire de Paris of France, but it IS real currency. So if anyone will be crazy enough to go to a store and buy something with this, it’ll be honored. BUT it’s worth far more than 50 Euros. It’s worth ¥168,000 or around €1,026 (US$1,376). YIKES. Basically if you pay with it, it’s only gonna pay for €50, but if you sell it, you’ll get its real price as a collector’s item. I guess. Harhar.

Sorry for all the numbers heheh. Well, for most of us this is definitely not something we’d get, still pretty interesting though. According to the news, there’ll be a series of these coins, showing Kitty having the time of her life in different places.

I actually have mixed emotions about this. But I’ll read what you guys have to say first. :)

Sanriotown Important Notice (Dun dun dunnn…)

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Hmm it looks like the blogs will be down this weekend. Here’s what the email says:

Our Dear Sanriotown Member,

We would like to inform you that our blog services will be down from May 7-9 (GMT + 08:00). A major enhancement will be implemented in order to serve you better!

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you for your patience! We hope that you continue to enjoy Sanriotown’s services!

Oooh…I wonder what they mean by “major enhancement”. I hope it’s something good. Well, see you guys next week then :)

For coffee-lovers like me…

Coffee-maker

All the coffee-lovers raise your hands! Sanrio SOOOOO understands us! *high fives you all* Harhar~ Anyways, at the office a lot of us drink coffee. I remember I used to drink instant coffee because I didn’t want to wait for the brew, but when I finally tasted our brewed coffee, I got hooked! I forgot what brand it was though.

Going back to the coffee-maker, it sells for about US$70. I wonder what it’ll take to get them to buy this for the office. Heheheh. But then again we drink A LOT of coffee, and by the mug, and it looks like it can only make around 5 cups at a time. Oh well. I guess after seeing so many sandwich makers and toasters, I’m just happy that they haven’t forgotten this very important part of my morning. Coffee is love. Hahaha.

On a final (yet important) note: The “A Dazzling Moment” official contest blog is up! This is the blog where you can learn more about the Dream Studio contest, and stay up-to-date with the latest announcements. Visit, visit! Click the image below:

A Dazzling Moment

It’s your time to shine!

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Okay I know I just posted yesterday, but this is really big news! Well, for us at least. There’s a new contest here on Sanrio Town. It’s called “A Dazzling Moment” and I’m pretty sure many of you will want to join. It’s a video competition for Dream Studio, and if you win, you can get one of THESE babies:

Prizes

Click the image to see the full contest details. Basically, you have to make an original, 3-minute, G-rated video on Dream Studio, using text, effects, and most importantly, the TWINKLE effect. There’s a lot more to it, so click the image! I those prizes are well-worth it, so go! Between you and me, this almost feels like a steal. I’m planning to make a video myself, I’ll let you guys know. ;)

Hello Kitty at FilmArt!

Monday, March 26th, 2007

So what exactly is FilmArt? It’s an annual international convention held in Hong Kong, and for this year it took place last week (March 20-23). If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s kinda a serious grown-up thing, where people in the TV, movie, animation (and so on) industry go to strut their stuff, and meet with other serious grown-up people for business and exposure. Well…I know I don’t exactly make it sound exciting, but it actually is. Why? Because it’s Hello Kitty! Haha.

Hello Kitty Booth

That’s what the Sanrio Digital booth looked like in the Filmart. If you’re wondering WHY Hello Kitty is in a film convention in the first place, then read on. She’s actually promoting the New (yes, NEW!) Adventures of Hello Kitty and Friends! What’s so new? It’s gonna be in full-3D, and trust me if you love Hello Kitty, you will find this a billion times cuter than he original animation.

You want to click this link, yes you do! Because that’s the link to the first ever Sanrio 3D Animation Trailer. You’ll see how cute it is. Hahaha. Yes, I did say cute. If you’re allergic to cute, visit still. Harhar~

Anyways, I also heard that Hello Kitty was awarded best actress for that animation, by whom I’m not sure yet. Anyways I’m so looking forward to this. Not to mention I think they really did a good job with this animation, it looks awesome ;)
