Tokidoki loves Hello Kitty still

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

An update on the Tokidoki x Hello Kitty collaboration I wrote about in an old post (with a similar title), the pics are up on the Tokidoki site~

Tokidoki x Hello Kitty

If you remember from that post, there were pictures of Hello Kitty as one of the Cactus characters, and that up there is her with Bastardino!

As gathered from the unofficial Tokidoki Blog, there was a leak from a Sanrio employee (later confirmed by the Sanrio Retail Operations department) that the items will be available in stores by the end of the month. Although, the pendant that Simone Legno was wearing in that old post of mine, isn’t gonna be available :P

There’s a full list of items at the Sanrios shop, and you can view them all by clicking here~

Tokidoki x Hello Kitty

This has got to be one of the most exciting collaborations, and in my opinion, the best! I’ll update you all if the items are available in stores already~! ^^

A-nation Presents: Hello Kitty for Boys!

A-Nation x Choro Q x Hello Kitty

This is so weird! I mean, aside fro the fact that this IS Hello Kitty, this one has absolutely no girliness in it!

Okay, shock has passed.

This is a limited-edition item that costs ¥3,000 each (about US$26), made especially for A-nation ‘07. It’s mostly made of resin and rubber

So what exactly is “A-Nation”? I’m not that up-to-date with Jpop stuff, but from what I gather, it’s a huge tour by many popular Jpop (Japanese Pop) artists on a special stage, held for a cause. I believe it’s been held for the past several years now, and hundreds of thousands of people go to see this concert every year.

So this is basically a collaboration between 3 parties: A-nation, toy manufacturer Choro Q, and of course Sanrio~

I think blue is A-nation’s theme color, at least for this year. Btw if any of you have more info on A-nation (as my Japanese isn’t that good), I’d appreciate any help at all ^^

Click the link to read the rest of the entry, there’s another (BLUE) promo item for this event, this time with Be@rbrick!

Kittybricks (Featuring “Soft Hard”)

KittyBricks

Here’s another Hello Kitty collectible set for all of you. This is the KittyBrick collection from McDonald’s.

The black and white Hello Kitty bricks at the top are actually designs taken from characters in Hong Kong pop culture. They’re called “Soft Hard”, and actually are representations of an alternative music group by the same name. Soft Hard is made up of actor and singer Jan Lam and Eric Kot. Actually I had to look them up so if I got anything wrong, please tell me~

These were given as prizes, if I’m not mistaken, for some contest. I so want the Soft Hard ones! Umm.. unfortunately since they were limited edition promo items, the supply isn’t that high. You can buy some of them off Happyhappytoytoy, or search on eBay. They go for around 9 USD each~

OKWAP Hello Kitty Phones

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Two years ago, Hello Kitty and OKWAP came up with their first line of Hello Kitty phones, which many of you probably know about already. But for flashback purposes, here’s a pic:

2005 OKWAP Hello Kitty Phones

Pic from Phonedaily. Cute no? ^^ Anyway, what this article is really about is the new OKWAP phone, and be prepared, it’s love and a half.

2007 OKWAP Hello Kitty Phone

I love love love this design (I watch too much Oprah haha), seriously! This is the OKWAP C150T which I think is a very cool phone. Pic from Engadget. As you can see it doesn’t have a normal keypad, but it comes with a stylus for its touch-screen.

It has a 2MP camera and is dual-sim by default. I know of some other phones that can be modified to be dual-sim, but from what I hear they aren’t that safe. Sad news is, it’s only available in China as far as I know. :(

Under the cut, you’ll find the super cute Hello Kitty themes that come with the phone. I guarantee you’ll love them, no matter how you like your Kitty ;)

First, I found my last post’s cube clock on eBay! Lookit~

Hello Kitty Cube Clock

Click the image to check the eBay page. I found out from the pic, that it DOES light, yay! So for any of my overseas readers who might wanna get it, you know what to do. ^^

According to the seller, it’s 8×8x8 cm, and also has a sound alarm. It runs on 2 AA batteries.

Although the bad news is that it costs US$9.40 PLUS shipping there. And it’s the exact same one, as you can see, and the one I saw was also very well made. I don’t get it. Anyways, it’s good news for us I guess superbong~ XD

Second, I’m really happy that I’m getting so many readers, even from outside Sanriotown. Who woulda thunk! Thanks to all of you~ ^^ I’ll do my best!

(Btw I’m thinking about doing something for my 10,000th hit, a Kiriban or something. Any ideas?)

Third, while going through my comments, I noticed that my cactus friend post is not only exciting to Hello Kitty fans, but to Tokidoki fans too. Apparently, they’ve been waiting for it for some time now. So I hope the collaboration comes out soon! ^^

Tokidoki loves Hello Kitty

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Tokidoki, whom many of you may already love, is working on a collaboration with our favorite Kitty. The news isn’t that hot, but as for my post title, I can prove it!

Simone Legno at work. And what’s that? A Hello Kitty Pendant!Aha! A Hello Kitty pendant! XD

Well yes they ARE doing a collabo after all rofl. Btw, to those who don’t know what Tokidoki is, it’s an Italian brand that features designs from Simone Legno, very Japanese culture inspired. They make super cute designs too ^^ Btw I got those pics from the Tokidoki blog.

And NOW! I bring you..

Hello Kitty Cactus

Hello Kitty Cactus, designed by Tokidoki! Waaah!! It’s so prickly cute LOL (I apologize) XD Okay, the heart-crossbones is the Tokidoki logo, and the cactus doggie beside Kitty is “Bastardino”, one of the original Cactus Friends. As you can see, this is an apparel line, mostly for bags.

Hello Kitty Cactus

In the Tokidoki site, the Hello Kitty collaboration page isn’t up yet, so I’m guessing this is some sort of sneak preview~

I can’t wait @_@!

Hello Kitty Pink Head

Tarina Tarantino Pink Head Hello Kitty

These are actually earrings from Tarina Tarantino’s Hello Kitty collection, as part of a collaboration thingy. Tarina Tarantino is a famous LA-based jewelry designer, she makes fun funky stuff mostly. She sports the pink hair a lot, so I guess it’s safe to say this version of Kitty was patterned after her ^^

Here are some other Pink Head stuff, actually these are my favorite off the collection:

Tarina Tarantino Pink Head Hello Kitty Biker ModTarina Tarantino Pink Head Hello Kitty Short Hair

The one on the left is called the Moto-Mod Crystal Framed Ring, and those are pink Swarovski crystals (Hello Kitty does a lot of Swarovski, I noticed haha~). That one costs US$88. The second one costs US$63. Both are fully adjustable.

As for the earrings, they cost US$88 and the Hello Kitty mascots themselves are 1.25″ tall. Those are Swarovskis too :)

I think these are some of the best mods I know for Hello Kitty. Very very fashionable~ ^^ Btw you can check those out at Tarina Tarantino’s website. I wish they made a plush or figurine for the biker Kitty though *_*

A Different KT

Shokotan KT PlushieDon’t be alarmed! Hello Kitty isn’t changing looks! Well, not for good anyways haha~ I introduce to you Mamitas the cat.

Yes, Mamitas the cat. Alright this is actually the product of the joined forces (rofl) of Sanrio and Japanese idol Nakagawa Shouko, more popularly known as Shokotan. If you’re not Japanese or aren’t into the culture, chances are you don’t know who she is. Anyway I don’t know much about her either, but from what I know she’s famous for…well, being famous. She cosplays and stuff, and her blog is also very popular. She posts about twice a day and the blog itself has millions of hits.

Mamitas~In that blog she takes a lot of pictures of her cat Mamitas, the one in this here pic. Isn’t he/she adorable? Actually Shokotan has her own slang for this, it’s “ギザカワユス!” (Giza kawayus!) meaning “Super cute!” Haha maybe I should make my own slang.

Anyways, the plushie you see at the top is Hello Kitty as Mamitas. Think of her cosplaying Mamitas the cat. Heheh~ The doll it’s holding is supposedly Shokotan. Cute isn’t it? Like the tables have turned. I wonder if I can be as famous as Shokotan? Probably not haha~ :P
