Hello Kitty Online was able to hold many events that always kept us entertained. From guild building events, to events that had us running wildly. There were so many people participating sometimes that the whole game was lagged. Despite them, we had many fun times in the events, working together, and much more. So the poll for this week is: What is your favorite event from HKO (Founder’s Beta)?

The choices are:

Hunger Strike -The event that allowed us to help little Pochi with his eating predicament. In this event, players honed their farming skills getting a variety of items from their farms with the prize of the Empire Key.

Monster Wrangler-This event required users to defeat the frightening counterparts of a couple different creatures for Keroleen, who has lost her pets and are now scattered in Sanrio Land. Players got the prize of the Liberty Key once completing the quest.

Frightspinners-In this event users were able to also use the Dream Studio to create a video with screenshots of HKO. The top 3 winners got a Hello Kitty box filled with goodies inside.

Be Nice Guys-This event flipped things around with older veterans needing help from new players in HKO.  High leveled players needed to bring GM-Salvador newbie item, and could get the prize of Leopard Glasses.

Happy Birthday Hello Kitty!-HKO allowed players who participated in this event to help Hello Kitty celebrate her birthday by cooking a birthday cake and allowing entrance into the party, with the prize of a cute Hello Kitty top for your character that went right on top of their shirt.

Build New York!-The Build New York event allowed players to be able to contribute in the construction of New York, allowing their name to be on the plaque once the city is built.

Food for Friends-Although a somewhat controversial event, the Food for Friends was an event that allowed HKO players to take advantage of their skills to help give food that would be calculated into dollars for charity.

GM Pinata-GM Pinata was an event that had players try to catch the GMs and be the first to trade with them so they could get items. The items could be rare items, or useless items, depending on your luck.

Founder’s Finale Events-There were many, so I grouped them altogether in one. To celebrate the ending of the successful Founder’s Beta, the HKO staff held a variety of events for the finale of the Founder’s Beta, partnered with MB Life for a chance to earn the prize of a diamond necklace.

Other-I might have missed an event, so if I did, and none of these were your favorite, then you can choose the other.

And so, here is the poll:

Well, I’ve been browsing around, and I remembered that I had an account on Vizu that I haven’t used for a long time. I also was pretty interested in Polldaddy, so I signed up. Plus, I was browsing around my Wordpress account, looking at some things, etc. So I began to be interested in polls, which brings up the topic: Introducing…the Poll Corner! I’ve decided that in my blog, I should do something that’d I’d be able to do continuously. So as the weeks pass by, I can think of different topics. So I’m going to add the category, Poll Corner!

The Poll Corner is something I’m going to do every Wednesday or Friday (I’ll try to do it on Wednesday, but if school prevents me to, I’ll do it on Friday) depending on the circumstances. It’ll be on a variety of topics, from technology, to HKO, to websites, and more! During each post, it will be titled PC: _______ and there will be descriptions of each choice. Depending on the poll, I might link some websites to help your choice along the way. Some polls will be shorter than others, such as raiting or yes or no polls

I hope you all enjoy this new section on Discoveries Online, and maybe it can help you find out what other people prefer! :)

In other blog site news,  the Websites category will used more often and will include website reviews as well. I have a new blog just for that, so I will probably post the entries on both. ;) And now posts will be formatted to be summaries, not full text. Comment what you think it should be–full text or summary, on this post’s comments. Opinions and comments on the newest updates are appreciated! Thank you! :)

Ah…so without HKO, I guess I have a lot of freetime on my hands. So I guess I’ve moved temporarily to…listening to music all day! I guess, I’ve been listening to music, watching music videos, watching the bands goof off, looking for new bands, etc. I’ve also been watching dramas, ah, all the crying can get pretty cliche. So, since I’ve been gone for awhile to find new things, here are some things I’ve been enjoying and recommending. I’m currently into Asian boy bands -’_'-, so that’s mainly what there is. So, a list of media things to fill up your time while waiting for HKO:

Ah, it’s the final day of HKO (for me, since the weekends are starting). HKO has really been a fun, memorable experiencing full of ups, downs, and a full turn-around altogether. I was always too caught in the moment, laughing, talking to myself, and all the typical things that make me look dumb. But it was a great experience to go through, especially from my guild. There were friends I met along the way, people that gave me advice, fun, and so much more. I guess at the second half of the FB, I really started truly appreciated it and enjoying it to the fullest. So it hurts me to see it go, but brings me joy that it will be back better than ever before.

Honestly, I didn’t enjoy the game that much in the beginning due to my struggling and staying the same level. There are people that have truly helped me throughout the game. Unfortunately, I cannot remember every name because there were so many. So I thank the whole Hello Kitty Online community for their kindness and understanding. Most people that helped me were my guildmates. I was one of the lower levels, but they were even more helpful and I was more grateful. Thuan is someone who had invited me to the guild, and I had originally planned to wait and choose, but with the random invite, I had no choice but to accept. I was so glad I had, because of how kind and warm the guild was, every member welcomed me with open arms. Thuan helped me with one quest, and that lifted a great weight on my shoulder allowing me to actually advance and move forward with a touch of fun. Thuan helped me often, and invited me to a guild that I am grateful to have been in. I thought it might have been fun to be in a famous guild, but then I realized, it’s size didn’t matter, and the kindness immediately made up of its small nature. I appreciated soon after, realizing how great it was because it wasn’t crowded, I even thought the amount was perfect. :) SilverRain had helped me because I didn’t want to look too much like a newb, and she offered hair that I had long waited for, as well as other items to help me save money. Cricket was also another person who had given me items to help me along the way, mostly items that I wanted too. She understood my dilemma with my computer, and gave me things that save so much time. Cricket was fun to talk to, and I appreciate all of her generosity. I also appreciate Kimberly, for giving me tools to help me prepare, and the rest of the guild!

I had so much fun during the one event I participated in :P, GM Pinata. Thank you GMs for what I got, and for all of your hard work. The guilt though, still irritates me on how I was one of the first chosen FB, but didn’t appreciate it’s glory until the end of it. As I’d like to say, you don’t realize the true value of something until you lose it. There were many fun moments, such as building Grand Central, entering London, getting a sheep to show off to the world, and much more. I will continue with HKOLand in OB, because things can still change, so I do not want to go too far in-dept. I’d still appreciate all the help for the website, and hopefully Super Cute will have a forum (because I want to make one). There were many fun bugs to catch, and I was able to become part of a magnificent circle of friends. HKO has shown all the great possibilities of what a game can do.

Yay! I get to participate in an event! The GM Pinata Event, and it was oh so fun. There were so many people in Florapolis, that I could barely move from the lag. -_- There were so many sparkles, and people everywhere, that I could not find my own character. When the event started, it was enjoyable to see people flee. We didn’t get to specifically whack the GMs, but we got to stalk them. Ah, stalker’s satisfaction. I was satisfied with my prizes, but then as time progressed, I became a little…upset. Let’s ignore that though and look on the bright side! I got Leopard glasses, 2 sheep cards, 20 floral wood, 50 clay, caterpillar, and 50 shamrocks. I didn’t know floral wood goes for 1000 a piece, so I might sell it, if I don’t get to do the quest that requires it by the time FB ends.

Some pretty interesting things that were found during the event. There were SarahPalin, JohnMcCain, JoeBiden, BarackObama, and Secret Service all together. Very, political. There were mobs of people everywhere, even after the event started.

I couldn’t take a screenie before, but I got a screenie after. There was a large amounts of Kevs……GM Mickey even hid behind one. ^_^

Well, you’ve probably already noticed the changes, but I feel like announcing the good news! I’ve finally gotten a new, cute theme to use. I was going to use the Charmmy Kitty Halloween Theme, but there was some sort of bug, or something stopping me. But from what I’ve seen, this theme seems perfect. :) If you haven’t already figured it out, I like Cinnamoroll tied with Hello Kitty for my favorite Sanrio character. So this is a Cinnamoroll filled, nice, Thanksgiving theme. Ah, two things that I love about Thanksgiving is: the scrumptious feasting of food, and that it is almost Christmas. So, I hope everyone enjoys the changes made for the theme! Now if only I could keep this theme but take out the Happy Thanksgiving when Thanksgiving ends…

Ah, did you ever notice that there are more events during the weekend? Well, obviously I’d understand that it happens because more people are free on the weekend, and it belongs on the date. The part that gets me so frustrated is that my computer that I use on the weekend (because that is when I am home) cannot play Hello Kitty Online. That means that I only get to play on the weekdays. But, I’m only free on the weekends, so…it’s a lose lose situation. I really was looking forward to Hello Kitty’s birthday until I realized I can’t play it. :( Also, for anyone who knows me in HKO (I’m Kireu), that’s the reason I don’t play on the weekends. It’s not fair…

Besides that, I have some good news. I found out that there are some parts that I’d like to call “Safety Spots” where monsters won’t attack you when you are gathering items, or just want to rest. I’ll add them to HKOLand soon, which is about the closest thing to HKO I can get to with interaction. So far, I found two for Sages, one for Spiders, and one for Sorosis.

So, now onto personal HKO experiences. I finally joined a guild! Yay, and they are so nice. I really love it there. I’m in the Super Cute guild, and the members help me so much. Join the guild! Yay for Thuan, SilverRain, and Phoeona, which are the only members I really have talked to so far…^_^”’ I’ve finally been able to improve and actually have fun, but after I did the Missing Key quest, I wasn’t able to open anything. I need to check my Key window to see if I actually got it.

HKOland is improving and being changed often so far. It is updated almost daily, and I finally got part of a page done for my first guide. It’s just Basic Controls, but it is good for new players. You can find it here. I hope you guys all enjoy it. ^_^ That’s it for now, but I’m going to get Food For Friends when I get back to HKO. Bye for now! :)

Well, I remember awhile ago, like a couple months ago, The Wannabe Asian and I wanted to make a website all for HKO. Well, I finally am starting! But, The Wannabe Asian I know doesn’t like HKO anymore, so I’m all alone. *sigh* I’m already behind in HKO from dying so much, and because I’ve been so busy. I’m only available on the weekends, and that’s when I can’t play HKO (some error on the computer, because I usually use my uncle’s, so my own can’t play HKO). I’m able to improve on it, but I feel like it is a little default, and isn’t very…unique. We need a template for this site I think…We have some pages done, and more should be added later.  So far the progress is good, in my opinion. I’d like to make this site not just for one guild, but for HKOers everywhere. So all the people who like the game can talk about it and be in a community website just for it. If that makes sense, then if anyone would like to help with guides, ideas, and such, please comment telling me if you’d like to help make it better (because it can be soooo much better with more people helping). Thank you! The website is: http://freewebs.com/hkoland Another thing is, sorry that it is not a full domain, but a domain from freewebs. I’d love to have more people help! ;)

Before I say anything, I just want to apologize for not adding so many posts recently. From now on, I’ll probably only blog my HKO days when I feel like it, and will just go by the amounts I post it to number them (if that makes sense). I’ve been so busy that I’ve barely been able to play HKO (NO!!) and blog. Now, back onto topic.

Yippee!! I’ve gotten my Nokia Internet Tablet n810 finally, on October 11th. Wow this post is late, but I’ve just got to post it up. The Nokia Internet Tablet is NOT a phone, but is what some would say a “mini computer.” I personally, do not have a specific classification for it, since it has so many different things. Though I’d probably just say “mini computer” since it’s built for, as the name says, the internet. It has media capabilities, utilities, internet, and much more. I didn’t get the WiMax edition, it seemed to expensive, and I don’t live in a metropolis area anyways. Since I really enjoy it, I would highly suggest it if you are considering the iPod Touch or something similar to that. Or if you want internet to be light and portable. Here’s a glimpse of it:

(photobucket image, front view)

As you can see, there is a touch screen and webcam, and right above it is the ambient light sensor (it adjusts the screen’s lighting to your surroundings), and a status LED light in the left corner. One of the most notable design improvements is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard with the navigation pad and the menu button on the left. There are two buttons on the left, with the windows switcher button and a back button. What is not viewable with the picture is the 3 level kickstand, stylus, headphone jack, adapter plug, mini sd card slot, speakers, power button, volume/zoom rocker, minimize/maximize button, and a lock switch.

There are many features for the n810, but the most notable and noteworthy is the internet browser. It supports Adobe Flash 9, AJAX, and is almost as fast as a computer. It is able to view websites normally like a computer, not compact mobile sites. It also has a basic media player, notes, sketch, x terminal client, map and GPS, internet calls, e-mail, games, image viewer, pdf reader, and more.

There are dozens of installable thrid party applications at maemo.org for the Nokia Internet Tablet thanks to its open platform. I personally use Pidgin Instant Messenger, which is an all-in-one instant messenger client. I also use some GPE suite applications, and WorldTV99 seems like an interesting application too, which can view TV channels from all over the world. Skype and Gizmo are also available, and there is a camera and recorder to take advantage of the webcam and microphone as well.

Well, I truly suggest it, and, I’m just plain happy being able to use it. Actually, I’ve blogged some posts with the tablet. ^_^ I views websites like a computer, and I always get reminded of, “mini computer!” when I’m using it. It’s a great product, and I’m just so happy!! :D

Yeah, yesterday I was so caught up in things that I didn’t have a chance to blog my day. I actually have been too busy today to actually play (I will post about this next). So I’ve noticed that the game has changed quite a bit now. This post will be quite short, so bear with me. This is from yesterday, but I just never  posted it up.

So, I found out that Hanin one of her quests, speaks Chinese, but if you encounter that in Sanrio Harbor, don’t worry. She gets her English back in the next dialogue. The crabs and player ratio is off, when I played, so everybody was fighting for crabs to fight. I unfortunately had to take some crab to fight from others. Boy did that make me feel guilty. But, I still don’t know why it took me an abnormal amount of time to finish the quest. T_T There is probably no 4th Day post and will continue off of Day 5.
